The ARP Odyssey Patch was so tough I changed my entire controller around to tweak this thing live.
There are 4 x Switches on the ground for Sync On/Off, Saw to Pulse, SawS to PulseS, and MVC Frequency Out to LF Keyb. Off.
This is the best Synth I have for live because it was designed for live from the ground up, and it really doesn't even need presets now. I have other synths like Prowave that I really love, but Solaris in hardware shall put that synth back in the folders for a while.

Client software? :o

I thought it would be accessible straight from my web browser.. doesnt mention anything on the synthschool site

I know its short notice (starts in 30 mins!) but any info would be great!

Grappa you gonna go to the class...?
You won't regret it.
I mean just look at tricks we learned on the filter.
I am embarrassed that I have been performing for years and had noo idea of the Fromant filter tricks.
I always got big fat bells using a super fast LFO rate, but the FIlter tricks are incredible.
It's my new live synth. Nothing but total control.

Yeah - I'm gonna sign up. Assaf definately knows his oats and he's very open and accomodating when it comes to questions - even from idiots like me!

Rather frustratingly the course is scheduled for Saturdays at 2pm which is just a non-starter for me.

Arghhh....

Contact Assaf and tell him the time you want.
We were all happy the time we had before which was 5 and 6 hours later.
Also ask him for the assignments and videos of the first session, they will get you up to speed. 8 days should be plenty of time and the tricks you will learn from those will surely help in semester 2.
Ciao.

I really like the envelope instructions Assaf gave.
Anyone with Modular can do this.
I chose Prowave for this example because I love the detune knob having a MIDI CC attached.
The effect comes on the very last note of the mp3. It's cool me thinks.
Funny how a synth can sound like a real instrument at times if the proper knowledge is applied.
I used the unison voice settings of 2 so I could get detune form a 2 Osc Sync config.

Yeah, not long now! The anticipation for the next course is really hotting up. Time for more swotting up on the last course before the brain expansion begins 8)
There couldn't be an easier way to learn modular unless someone did it for you

Too much work now on my external degree.....in the middle of a tough course, so no time to do the modular stuff properly :-? I'll have to bow out of the next one - I'll have to leave it until October :-? (might do the synthmaker course and the intermediate Scope one). Hey, I might pick up a few things here in the meantime and might drop in to a free seminar if Assaf does another one. :)

That sucks Strav but hey you've got a lifetime of messing with this stuff in front of you so don't sweat it..

I have to say that having spent some considerable time reviewing the first few sessions (I'm up to FM now) the excitment is palpable.. it's fair to say I've spent most of my time with my jaw on the floor watchin Assaf weave his magic - it's very motivating and I've made more progress in the last two weeks than I have since I started playing with Scope synths.. I've spent most of my life as a dumb ass guitarist so unless there are any drummers on the intermediate course I figure I'm gonna be the troublemaker :)

I'm off to create that distorted FM guitar sound that fades into feedback - simply frikin awesome...
