So, wich magmabox should I choose to get at least 3 PCI slots ? For big SC pci cards ?

Hey, that board looks great. I missed that one. It's about 40 quid cheaper than the mobo I was thinking of getting and has one more PCI slot in it. It has just the right number of parking spaces for my requirements. 2 x Scope 15's. 1 x UAD1 PCI & I x Duende PCIe. Is it for cards or a Xite, Tom? Let us know how you get on with it.

well, I've delayed the mixer project due to workload, so I considered this a cool board for an intermediate 'modern' system.
Recently tried an ASUS p8p67a-m with an i5 under Win7/64 which outperformed my current system in the processing domain by a mere 100% for about the same pricetag. Impressive.
Comparing onboard digital output with the RME S/PDIF for multimedia revealed that onboard audio isn't any option at all... strange, but according to my ears the codec really(!) screws it.
I'll probaly set it up as a recorder (mainly) with VDAT controlled by a BRC and the Osiris XP package. More or less a one-trick-pony that's in standby whenever an idea come to mind. Plug-in an instrument or mic and go.
I mean with an i3 and 4 GB that's 250 Euro... so what ?
The synth and midi stuff will remain on the Tualatin under Win98... doesn't crash midi-wise, even if you flood it with crap
