If I disable an usb controller, certain set of usb ports get disabled/non functional as well. Ports are tied to controllers. One controller handles 2 usb ports.

yes, but they're not usually hard wired like that(ports and controllers)boards have toodamn many of those things on them anyway.

you'll be able to do what you need, it's a non issue.

i've done that trick many times now.

Sorry having a bit of a hard time following this thread. I was considering the ASUS P5B motherboard myself for my Scope Project/XTC cards (only two cards installed). If I understand the messages, I shouldn't have a problem installing my cards onto this mobo but a third card could be trouble?

One other question: what about WinXP 64? Is Scope compatible with this OS?

the intel board is fine with 3 cards after the usual disabling uneeded devices shenanagins..(successful with d965lt and d965ryck)

Didier, could you tell me how many DSPs you have on the P5B. I really want to buy a mobo that can stand 3 scope Pro (who knows?). I really need to know who has a recent mobo than runs 3 CW sound cards without problems... Anyone ?

The good ole' trustworthy Intel DP965LT / E series CPU. Read the whole thread. I use this live and in recordings also. When it works live, that's the proof of the pudding.

it seems great... And so cheap (100€ or something). Very intersting as we can focus on a good cpu core 2 duo (the 4 Mo version seems really faster..). I have purchased a Raptor 150 Go (western digital) and as i have some trouble with installation (SATA with my asus borad which is 3 year old) i really think it is time to upgrade my PC... Thank you very much for your opinion (there are few informations/reviews about intel boards... amazing !).

they are not for overclocking. what do gamer reviews care about mobos that are not for overclocking? intel mobos are not sexy, but they work great. i use them because they are cheap and stable. the d965ry is also good.

i've used both.
scope4live's was an LT and so was the last one, the two in between were RYs. all of them work great!

i'd say whichever is available, go for it. if both are available, get the LT, it's cheaper. you will have to disable a couple of usb controllers. since there are like, six controllers, you can lose a couple. all or most all usb ports will function.

That Raptor is an awesome Gigastudio, or audio streaming HDD. The extra L2 cache on the Core 2 Duo, and the doubled amount on the Raptor, seem to help out w/ memory addressing.
