As I pointed out in both my posts I'm assuming it is true - that does not mean it has to be. but on the other hand I have no reason not to belive bennylevar statement. At least he seems to be the only one that has some knowledge of things as they are at the moment and is ready to share that knowledge! Creamware closing down is a big deal for people here that have invested a fortune in theyr systems. Questions rise up about lots of things for example waranty, repairs etc. I for example have a A16 interface bought directly from CW with one bad converter. What should I do? Send it to them for repair? Are they in? Will I get it back?
So with all respect I think this is a issue worth talking about - and by the way the only information I've had of CW status I have optained here in this threat - not from CW! So just for that reason I'm thankful for this maby a little lengthy threat of ours.

I am still positive about this

And I do hope, that everybody in that company comes well out of it - nomatter if the number of staff members remain the same.

On the "if bad happens" side, we might end up in a historical situation. You know sometimes it takes some time, before people find the value of art/people/technology and other stuff. We could end up with "vintage" computerequipment ½ a year from now ...

Anyway, I repeat:
I am still positive about this.

hilarious thread!

yeah... in three years time on ebay:
a 'john bowen solaris' equiped powerpulsar: 5.000 USD, Flexor on pulsarII 3.000 EUR... SpaceF Echo on Pulsar XTC...

i'm more concerned about the functioning of the computer itself than the prolonged live of CW or whether benny is for real or a joker. i already love what i'm playing with now... which doesn't mean i wouldn't like mod bug fixes and more and better and scroll wheel mouse support for mac

Wow! Okay, attention spans are at an all time low. Mr. first time poster coming in with death-rattle talk seems to go in direct contradiction to the reason this thread was started... we are awaiting the announcement of GOOD news that has come from a conversation between JC and Frank Hund.

For the love of "evolving patterns of energy" (I'm trying to not use religious language anymore) keep your pants on! We're waiting for GOOD NEWS!!!

Sheesh,
Sam

a couple of days ago I ordered Solaris - it alone will be enough for tweaking for more than a year

in fact the copy protection remains the only 'real' concern imho - but I'm already experienced
I once had trouble with a TDAT16 card and CW couldn't help because they licenced it from Sonorus and those refused any service due to some differences between the two companies.

I couldn't even convince them by champaign or great red whines of choice  no exception

btw Sam is right - John didn't make that announcement as a joke..

cheers, Tom

****unofficial****
ok, first of all, this is GOSSIP! (i am not an official person in any means, no retailer or anything, so if anyone say anything else than im about to say now, dont sue me.)
OK. Draw your own conclusion why this isnt known. CW has gone bankrupt since 1st of january. However, a new company is formed, with mr. Hund himself in a key position. they will continue the devekopment of the SFP platform, tho under a different brand.
so we are in safe hands.

PS. This prolly havent gone official TO US the last three weeks due to their sellout of internals.

PPS: the new 'brend' has allready secured new OEM contracts.

PPPS: i prolly could say more, but i think its time Frank gets his words out.

There was a young man called Frank,
His soundcards were in the top rank,
He said: I made lots of money,
But you know it's quite funny,
I've just got closed down by the bank.

u wouldnt know how true that actually is.

oh, and it qualifies as a limerick as well

btw, after speaking to a couple of broken hearts 'frank wise', here's a revised version;
There once was this young man called Frank,
His soundcards was top of the rank
He made lots of money,
and its kinda funny
he never was (tell us the whole story) by the bank.

You have no reason not to believe his statement?! What about the fact that his credibility is zero and his indenty unverified? He just made one statement without even the slightest hint of evidence and you're ready to take his word for it? You're going to believe this guy over John and Frank??

truly amazing logic on display here

I went through a bunkruptcy and reorganization with the last company I was with (the company makes video editing boxes). A few of the employees took early opportunities and left the company, the rest were 'let go' over two layoffs in an attempt to keep the company afloat as long as possible. I managed to make it through the reorganization by busting my butt and learning more than anyone else that did what I did (creative & product development). Needless to say there were quite a few unhappy 'anonymous' posts made the the most popular forums dedicated to our products--also independantly owned & run like PlanetZ so these went largely unchecked by anyone outside of the local moderators.

As sad as it was to see all my co-workers go, the Bankruptcy proceedings gave the company time to make the proper plans, and the following reorganization gave the company the ability to establish new business relationships and bring on fresh talent. The company really did emerge stronger than I had seen it in the 2 years I had been with them, and our hopes for the future were bright. Unfortunately shortly before 911 things were looking so bright that the company's board made a poor decision to rely on investment capital from the outside betting on an IPO within the next 2 years, instead of letting the top people in the company simply buyout their shares up front to generate the capital that was needed to expand operations. The employees had the money but the decision wasn't ours. Of course 911 followed not too soon after and I think the panic of the investment bankers led to a shift in priorities and most of us wound up leaving over the next year. Moral of the story? Yet another bright young company in California let itself be led around on a short leash by people with only profit in mind (the investment capital came from a Japanese company that knew nothing about our products or market).

I suspect that Creamware will not make the same mistake, but since I don't really know anymore than the rest of us I can only sit here in suspense and make my peace with whatever diety rules over dsp chips and music. Here's to a successful outcome for Frank and any other remaining creators of SFP & Scope, and us!

Of course things like this can as well be the start of a new life for the company. I would however not describe concerns that are published here as a "trollism". If true, the post of the former CW employee did mostly describe how he witnessed proceedings in the court room - and I would not classify it as a rumor.
Let's just hope this matter will be clarified soon....

Thorkell, don't you know by now that anything a lawyer says is a rumour?

"Defend your client with all means necessary" is their moto.

I choose not to believe until it is officially announced.

I choose not to believe announcements until they've been investigated, whitewashed, hidden for 50 years, then finally released under Freedom of Information.
