I particularly liked Gary's 'The effects are also quite good'. That's going to really boost sales.

Hey Dudes, can we post the Xite video to youtube? that's the only way to embed it in some Music Forums topics around, which would be very useful, because there aren't any other videos about it.

You guys know that the Yeti is quite a beast. Some think it's real - it's even been seen a few times according to legend.

I would like to hear 'officially' from sonic core about anything! anything at all to let us breathe a little. Maybe this beast is for real - who really knows?

anyone else with me? :P

On page 3, no less, of this very topic, there is a reproduction of the official documentation presented alongside Xite-1 at Namn

hope this helps

I've been trying to post it on youtube for 3 days, and cannot get it 'accepted' yet.
I hope to have it up there by this weekend.

I'm considering adding some more captioning to help offset the ambient audio background noise - despite EQ'ing/limiting to enhance Gary's loud (thankfully) voice, it just didn't quite get everything across.

We'll see.

Greg

p.s. I regret not having time or ability to capture my brief introductory talk with 'the Gentlemen' early Friday morning amidst constant distractions and calls for coffee. It was a nice little 'interview'.

But hey there where some questions around:

When will it be ready ?
Are there bug fixes or not ?
Is XTC in ? is it bug fixed ? is it enhanced ?
Will scope PCI and Xite run in the same machine ? If yes how ?
What is the upgrade procedure from scope PCI to Xite in terms of HW and in terms of SW

So great news guys and joyful happening, but what the hack did the sonic cores really talk to you. :P
Yes...that's are the most important things that we want to know!!

I'd add the following to those questions:-
  • - What will be the procedure (aside from owning an XITE) for the current SDK/DP users to develop plugs for XITE?
    - Will there need to be a new SDK/DP release to be able to develop directly on XITE?
    - Will there be a release of new XITE-compatible atoms for SDK/DP users?
    - Will there ever be a single development platform freely available to both SDK & original DP users?
Other SDK/DP related questions could be added as well, but generally all SDK/DP related questions are quite important questions to ask on behalf of people not able to visit these shows. Sorry for not asking for them to be asked before the show started. :P

I have asked some of those questions, but I don't have any specific knowledge about XITE.

1) Do you mean something like quality control? Or limit number of developers for the XITE platform?
2) The current version the SDK should work on XITE - no special version. I believe that Scope DP is not supported any more.
3) There will be specific atoms for XITE, obviously - why would you want those atoms on the current generation?
4) As said before - I dont believe that Scope DP is supported anymore, therefor we have only one developing platform SDK.

As state many times before by Garyb, XTC is present on XITE.

yup.

there's another show in a few months. i'm thinking those questions will be answered by then.

in the mean time:
When will it be ready ?
soon.
Are there bug fixes or not ?
yes there are. as i already said, while the gui hasn't changed much and the system looks just the same, the underpinnings have been reworked. no doubt there will be a few new bugs. :) from what little i can tell, it runs better.
Will scope PCI and Xite run in the same machine ? If yes how ?
it's not clear how. it was mentioned that more than one instance of Scope can run. i never saw such a thing.
What is the upgrade procedure from scope PCI to Xite in terms of HW and in terms of SW?
hw? just plug in the XITE. sw? none.
What will be the procedure (aside from owning an XITE) for the current SDK/DP users to develop plugs for XITE?
ask S/C...
Will there need to be a new SDK/DP release to be able to develop directly on XITE?
not clear. afaik, the old devices will(at least mostly) run on XITE, so the same sdk(with a couple of updates) may apply.
Will there be a release of new XITE-compatible atoms for SDK/DP users?
once again, ask S/C. i would think yes.
Will there ever be a single development platform freely available to both SDK & original DP users?
i don't know if they're even ready to struggle with those details yet...

-btw, yes, i expect xtc mode, at least for pc.

best i can do. i'd suggest contacting S/C, but i suspect that they have plenty to do without a bunch of emails about things that should be clear very shortly.

1. No I meant would the process for current sdk users be the same as it currently is with a Pro board whereby you buy the board then sign an nda & get the sdk or would a current sdk user not need to go through that process again after buying an XITE. I would need to know that I can make my own plugins for XITE before I would buy it. That ties in with your question in point 3. If a current sdk user buys an XITE, they would obviously need the new atoms to make full use of it.
2. That ties in with my last sentence regarding needing the new atoms to make full use of XITE.
3. Same as point 2.
4. ah, ok.
