Here's one each to keep it fair.

I asked an Aussie what the difference between Slander and Libel was; Easy he says, Slander is where you defame someone in a public place and Libel is what you stick on your suitcase when you go on holiday.

Also, I asked a Aussie and a Kiwi if they would ever sleep with a 14 yr old, 'No way!' says the Aussie. 'A 14 year old what?' says the Kiwi.

I heard those in The Church.

So Australians aren't the only ones to joke about Kiwis....

But I think we're not doing our international reputation any good dwelling on sheep too much. I mean there's so much more here. Just think about all the .... ah ..... cows.

Hey Kiminet,
My decision to ban dxl had nothing to do with him disagreeing with me. It was his disrespect for the people in these forums, and his statements to new users that no one in the forums can be trusted, lies, consipiracies, nonsense. Please refer back to the thread I mentioned at the beginning of this topic to see what I mean.

I thought I would post a reply here since it was my post that "broke the camel's back" so to speak....and got dxl banned

I was on the fence about purchasing a Pulsar card.....but I went ahead with it.

MAN I LOVE THIS THING!!!!

That kid must have been CRAZY! It is so flexible and sounds TERRIFIC!

Anyway, thanks to everyone who responded on the "positive" for the purchase.....

Now I just have to save up some more pennies for an SRB

I just posted my FIRST pulsar song in the music section....please take a listen!

Cheers

You know I found the same thing. Almost the second I purchased the Pulsar, I immediately because at least twice as productive and creative.

The thing makes you want to create. I love it.

I'm confused about this Aussies and sheep thing - putting your arm around a sheep?
I'd heard that Australian foreplay consisted of 3 words - "Brace yourself Sheila"

Can I tellone 'bout pigs then (they are more common in Denmark

Three farmers went down the old road, and notice a pig stuck in the fence. The first farmer goes: "Oh, I wish it was dark, and that it was our young maiden from the farm." The second farmer goes: "Oh, I wish it was dark, and that it was my wife." The third farmer goes: "Oh, I wish it was dark."

This one is always fun to tell when there's ozzies around. Give it a try, you'll see what happens

An Englishman goes to the doctor, and he tells the doctor he wants to become a Scot. The doctor goes: "That is possible, but you'll have to face that we're gonna take away 50% of your brain." The Englishman agrees, and so they make an appointment. After the operation, the doctor says to the Englishman: "I'm so sorry man, but instead of 50%, we had to remove 90% of your brain." Goes the Englishman: "Na warries mate!"

Never fear, DXL's still lurking around

He registered a new account here under the name Maplechen. He then posted a couple of his usual anti-CW messages and when I replied to one of them (stupid move, I admit)he deleted the thread.

Some people have waaaay too much time on their hands!

R.I.P DXL....

I think 80% of the time DXL's comments were very biased and not welcome. However I believe 20% of his comments were good becasue they made you think about products more openly.

But I do agree to ban him. His posts filled the PlanetZ forums with utter rubbish. I just wish he could have been a little less negitive. I doubt he has ever used all the equipment he talks about! He doesn't really know half the time what he is talking about.

Thanks for the Ban, John. And long live PlanetZ.

Well, I have not read all the posts in this thread and I´m not commenting any posts I have read....

But there are a few members of this forum that never have been to another forum... they are not accustomed to some rude language. "Spittings" and "fightings" are very common in forums, especially when not everyone is as satisfied whith certain results. In the Nuendo forum you often find discussions like that. I don´t know "DXL" personally and I have only read a few posts of him, where more people where spitting at him, as in the other direction. So my opinion might not be objective.

BUT we are all more or less in the music business, right?? Where you have to work whith the tools that are present, where you have to sometimes fight your way through. Where "yelling" can be the common conversation level.... The system doesn't kick ass, YOU have to kick ass. This has nothing to do with the box of beans you bought last week. Remember, YOU are driving the bus. If it is not right, YOU have to do something about it. This could as well imply "yelling" and "shouting"!! This business is a very hard and sometimes ugly business. You DO NOT learn successful methods by yourself. It is tought and mentored, and in some way you have to get the information, even when you have to steal it. Find out who is cutting the good goods and learn to ~hang~ and learn, and learn to forget whatever "story" somebody told you "how to do it." (including my posts!) If you don't know what I'm talking about in a year, go be a specialized tax accountant and serve the industry through that. DO NOT stagnate. And DO NOT be conned by the ten million wannabees who need YOUR attention in order for THEM to feel like somebody. USE your EARS. Use your HEAD. Use your SENSES. (And so on)

What I wanted to say with my post is that
I did consider DXL´s "whining" as "whining", although I have read too many complaints and problems concerning technical issues. BUT I consider "CALLING THE POLICE" as one of the most ridiculous actions one can take... !!! I have never seen that kind of reaction in my 15 years of business! "Bitching" is more common! Please don´t anyone get me wrong, I´m usually a very humerous and kind person, that likes to help people that have problems. Also whith my post I´m not trying to criticize the decision from John Cooper. And I regard "Subhuman" as a real gentleman! But I would like to remind some of you not to forget in what business we are in and that it is necessary to adress ALL aspects!!! Even when it hurts! And pleeease, don´t call the police!

Regards,
Sunshine

Sunshine, some of your points are well taken. But please do read through the thread before leaping to conclusions.

Dxl was tolerated for a loooong time before he finally went over the line and I decided to ban him. Read my other posts in this thread for explanations.

Dxl was banned from several other forums for similar behavior. Apparently, he has some fundamental lessons to learn about human interaction on the net. He still has never emailed me to ask for help or discuss the issue, so I don't feel particularly bad about my decision.

Finally, I think your statement that people here have never been to other forums is totally invalid. I think many people have come here FROM the other forums as a refuge - a more peaceful and less obnoxious environment here.

John, of course you are right...
That´s the reason why I like to be here.
I was exaggerating a little, I did that purposly to make my point clear. That´s all... I´m a Creamware user since one year now and I´ve noticed what was going on in the Creamware forum, and there was no way bringing that forum on a normal discussion level. And to avoid such things, actions have to be taken... I understand all of that. It´s just from my "newbie" view it seemed like people were more attacking him and that he had to swallow quite a bit. At least he could take some heat, I think... I just wanted to give a different aspect from what I´ve seen so far. But as I stated above, my opinion might not be objective (because I´m still a newbie here, that doesn´t know the pre-history)

Sunshine

I too think you expressed yourself pretty clear, Sunshine, and I want to give this to consider:

if you know several forums, you could probably describe the different mentalities of these; here you can find qualities of naivté, creativity, lots of enthusiasm and even intimacy. It seems that these values have to be protected sometimes.

There's only one thing you won't find here: women pulsarians!

Nor anywhere else, for some reason. That's always bewildered me!! Are there any female Pulsar users in the world, and if so, where are they hiding?!

hehe! maybe there are female pulsar users but:
1) they are exactly what they are: users.
ok, maybe they need support, yes. they just reed the infos here...
2) i think that it's a typical masculine feature to have conversation, chatting and friendship built on technical issues...i've seen great female musicians, but none of them showed anything different from a sort of disgust for technical issues.
would you post and stay soooo much on planetz if you didn't feel a sort of pulsarian brothership?
this is impossible for a woman imho.....

i know i generalize, but explanations are exacly this...and they can be wrong.

ciao, alfonso.
