I'm willing to support it because of my huge investment but the problem is the new reverbs I agree are an incentive but you really need to own the xite to take advantage of them and do everything else you might want to do with the mixer and synthesizers.
I sense from the level of activity on this forum that their user base hasn't expanded and in fact is still shrinking so the Xite was a bad gamble as I predicted.

Yes the XITE-1 is a complete failure and S|C is doomed.

But at the end of the day, aren't you really angry because you never had enough power to load the B2003 twice...............??
I bet your first lover still gets nasty emails from you.

LOL, I bought them (from Sonic Timeworks) when I had just 2 Pulsar Ones, you know... the thingies with the f*cked up PCI throughput and STILL could make use of them quite well.
cheers, Tom
don't you think that calling them 'incentive' is respectless (to say at least) ?
I've tested countless native reverbs (and not the cheapos, btw) and those devices always stood up extremely well.
Usually they had the better tone, more clarity and definition - though not as fancy as some native stuff ...

I can probably use them for mixing in a separate project but not in a full project which is nice but a bit of a hindrance. I find that cable thing slows it down.
What is disrespectful about calling the new reverbs an incentive?

Oh, the Luna, What does that load? 2 Sine osc and a 6dB low pass filter

"huge" investment!
there's proof of small fry-ness. a "huge" investment in music gear is in the tens, no the hundreds of thousands...

a few hunderd dollars is a guitar foot pedal.

I've only got 12 DSP but if I wanted to use the new reverbs, I would offload mixing from STM to native - Braincell, have you tried the Record SLL ( I've asked you this before as I know you like Reason ).
If the Xite user base is not growing, then do something about it. Publicise it. I don't have Xite but I still tell every muso I know about it because I know it would be fantastic.
If you've got a few grand get Xite. If you've only got $200 get Record and tell your mates about Xite. I want Xite to take off just in case I can afford one in the future.

I tried Record in beta and it didn't make an impression on me.

well from the "how many Xites" thread in the Xite forum I gathered that SC had sold all their Xites and had to build new ones before being able to take new orders.
Of course they probably didn't build a huge number in the first run but still that looks quite positive.

They have more now, Mine was sent off almost immediately to the US and got there within 4 days of me ordering, and is now on its way to me in Canada.

I ordered my xite from SC directly last week and yesterday Ralf said it will be shipping this week. They have some. Can't wait.

Xite's have been for sale in the US for a year now.
I've had mine just over a year.
The current units being shipped are for back-orders and new orders.

Depends how you tried it, in context of a Scope system....it took me 3 projects to get my head fully round the Record tracker / SSL, not something you're going to do in a one hour fiddle with a Beta ver.
Now I'm getting some great sounding mixes by importing audio / midi tracks from old Cubase projects, using the SLL to remix them, and using the Creamware DSP for mastering only.
If you want to use the new Scope plugs but you're short of DSP at least its a cheaper solution. I'm not saying the SLL is better than STM, but in the context of some Dance tracks and re-organising my DSP for mastering, somewhere along the line I gained sonically.

Abit more than that tbh.
It's a high quality soundcard with a little taste of what the full scope enviroment has to offer.
You get what you payfor in life. The luna is worth every penny.
I had one to test the waters (years ago) and very soon got the pulsar and added them together..
Anyhows, i now have an xite-1 and again it outperforms over things like uad or pro-tools for sheer quality, flexibility and price combined.
