So, as far as an overall paradigm, then I think Xite is still positioned well.
SC's only marketing issue may be promoting the distinction of dedicated DSP vs. the currently bloated CPU/RAM/VST paradigm. Still apples and oranges comparison, but hey - the general public are relatively ignorant about these things sometimes.

The V-Machine is cool (basically a scaled down Receptor), but is still underpowered, and can't handle the big VST's and RAM-intensive apps that is the OTHER trend going on now - big gnarly, juicy ROMplers and Sample-engines that need ever-more CPU/RAM/throughput.
So, IMO, it's time to get some horsepower for the future that will last a while (perhaps even negating having to get a new computer every year or two), and grow with it.
