I've tried tweaking the PCI latency periodically over the years with limited results.
Currently I only get crackles when I have PsyQ and OptiMaster in the mix chain. Disconnecting them eliminates crackles. VERY aggrevating having to delete and reimport them into the workspace.
I consider this an OLD bug going way back.
It might also be heat related, but even then I get mixed results when attempting to get rid of the crackles.
Crackle driving me mad....help!

more details:
Asus P4P800 Deluxe
P4 3GHz
1G RAM
Samplitude
PulsarI
SRB
PowerSampler (11 DSP's total)
Crackling and spontaneous muting of mix output from 2448 mixer ONLY seems to occur with Optimaster and PsyQ in the mix output chain. Taking them out of the chain stops the crackling and weirdness.
I also get an occasional DSP error or STDM error when adjusting settings in the Optimaster - even though the DSP meter never goes above 50%!
I'm TIRED OF THIS!!! It's embarrassing when I'm in a session with clients, and AGGREVATING when working alone on mixes.
It happens spontaneously.
Also, it is NOT a heat issue, since I have an additional fan blowing on my OPEN PC case.
Am I going to be forced to upgrade to a PowerPulsar or PulsarII (or whatever), in order to get MONDO DSP?
There is some sort of DSP 'leak' somewhere or some sort of bug.

I have the exact the same problem SOMETIMES when using OptiMaster. Sometimes it works like a charm, and sometimes it just crackles all the time, with no other configuration at all. Nothing is changed! On 2004-10-21 23:51, siriusbliss wrote:

One thing I've noticed in my setup is that if I redo a Scope project, everything will work fine, for a couple of hours/days/weeks. Then it starts crackeling again, I then redo the project and I'm ok for another hour/day/week!
I'm getting sick and tired of all these flaws with the Scope system, seriously thinking of leaving it (if it wasn't for the OptiMaster and MiniMax!) I've tried everything on 7 different computers (chipsets and CPU's), and have had this problem on every single system!
