best mixer

I am using Pulsar II SFP 4.0 and Sonar 4 with drivers asio 24 bits. What is the better option:
- Mixing in a external hardware (01v96)
- Mixing in STM 24/48

STM2448 + external controller - do doubt.
But when task allows - i mix in Samplitude, dont know why but final result sounds better
