How to record vocals without recording reverb?

Hello guys&girls,
I am trying to figure out how to record vocals in cubase with vocalist that HAVE reverb on their headphones,and NOT to record that reverb in cubase?I tried to have some masterverb in sfp,but cubase records vocal with that reverb?So,how to create nice reverb that singer hear in headphones without recording it to cubase?

let's assume the micpre comes into SFP via analog ins which go to masterverb and the asio destination you send to Cubase.

Just draw a 2nd connection from the anolog input directly to an asio channel and viola, you have what you want. Mute the dry channel from monitoring...

...and if you use a mixer, send the clean signal to a bus, and warp the bus to an ASIO dest.

use the stm2448. it has a monitor bus. have the headphones hear that bus. engage an aux bus on the singer's channel. rasie the output to half or so. connect the reverb input to that aux bus output. choose verb and set output to wet 100%. return the reverb output to a channel. enable the monitor on that channel but not the mix out. raise the monitor level on the reverb channel until the singer is happy. viola!

this is how it's done in most every real world studio around the globe.

Yes, that is the classical way to do it. Sometimes I still think of the modules as effects boxes that I connect as I would in the "old" days, so I tend to patch accordingly, in a classical studio tradition.

God that makes me sound like I am about eighty five years old! LOL!!!

I use the 2448 mixer. My vocal mike is pluged into my Mindprint AN/DI and comes into SCOPE as an SP/DIF module which is pluged into a reverb module. The reverb module is pluged into a mixer channel. The reverb level is adjusted to taste. A second connection is made from the SP/DIF module and connected directly to the ASIO destination for a totally dry recording. I find this method of working the easiest.

Connect Analog source to stm.2448
Connect Analog dest.. to bus 1&2 or any,
Connect Reverb out mixer/RTN (1/6 outs)
Connect Reverb in to AUX (1/6 ins)
open the Master mixer,activate RTNs

uhm.............can you help me,I don't exactly understand your posts

I don't have 2448 mixer,I have luna,so I am restricted to only two mixers(I think).
If anybody have some time,can you please describe step by step how to make that reverb in headphones only?

it's not easy to answer because it's unknown where you monitor and what parts the performer gets to his/her phones.
There are several ways for this setup.

The only general solution that comes to my mind is to 'waste' a track in Cubase to (additionally) record only the dry vocals.
Add a duplicate of the existing one, but without reverb - mute this from monitoring.
Later on mixdown mute the 'artist track', the one with reverb.

connect the audio source directly to the asio dest AND the channel of a mixer. connect the reverb to the mixer. monitor off the mixer.
