s/tdm cable
really short simple question. I am in the middle of setting up my new PC with two scope cards (both 14 dsp). I remember hearing that I only need one s/tdm cable to connect the two cards. Is that what people are doing? Is there an advantage to using two or more (since there are three places to put them on the card)?

I've been using 2 cables for a while, out of necessity. (Big project.) No stability issues yet, but GaryB's right -- CW support says "the fewer S/TDMs, the more stable your system will be."
Incidentally DSP-intensive devices are not the issue for the bus. When you have lots of smaller devices connected together, then you might start needing more S/TDM bandwidth.
