things are going from bad to worse.

When i have cubase looping and i click on pulsar to adjust a setting. cubase stops playing. i am not sure whether the looping has stopped as well, but the playback has?

i wish i had never upgraded my PC and put SFP 4.0 on.

thank all of you for putting up with my stupid questions!

RELAX!

Maybe it will take a couple of days but sooner or later there is always someone here who will be able to help.

Calm down and take a few deep breaths.

It's just a computer. I have felt exactly like you are feeling now. There is a solution to every problem.

Just keep asking for help and be as specific as possible with your descriptions.

Let's start with all your info as to what computer, OS, which PUlsar, ETC...

R

No big deal, I know how infuriating it is to just want to make music and have annoying technical problems. Been doing it for the last 20 plus years.

I don't use Cubase, but that shouldn't matter, obviously it should continue running when you switch back and forth to SCOPE.

I'm sure one of our resident genii will have some obscure XP tweak or some equally obscure Cubase setting that will fix it.

thanks again nprime. the really annoying part about this is that i have been making music using the pulsar card for about 5 years. but my old PC started to really struggle, so i thought i would upgrade.

what with not being able to use my old presets (especially my default) so that i could forget where everthing connects!!! it is just a gutter.

but agree this is the forum that will know. always better than the slightly mocking tone i get from Creamware support!

thanks again

2 things to try. First, I think Cubase has a Play In Background setting that you have to turn on. Second, in the task manager (ctrl-alt-del), low SFP's priority to below normal or low, and boost Cubase's priority to above normal or high. Try this and see how it works.

In cubase sx2 it's under:

Devices > Device Setup.

(Uncheck asio box)

Exact location would be ( SX/Nuendo )

Device set up
VST multitrack

uncheck release Asio Driver in background.

i have this exact same problem but with LOGIC audio on PC. does anyone know how to resolve the issue with Logic?
Also, how do you keep the 'priority' settings permanent? they seem to reset to 'normal' once you reboot the machine.

Same idea in Logic. SFP to low, Logic to above normal (putting it at high seems to make a bit weird for me.) You can't make the changes permanent tho . At least, I don't know how. If anyone has any idea, like some command line util hidden somewhere in a resource kit or some such, I'd like to know too.

Logic only releases the emagic driver in the background, not asio. There's a cehckbox somewhere and it specifically states that it doesn't work with ASIO...
