Looks like I was hasty parting with my cash.
'Sampler and Modular as well as Mixers Do not work under XTC mode nor will they in the future
ONLY synth and effect work under XTC mode
There is no upgrades or update to XTC mode,
Regards,

Ali Fawaz

Creamware USA & Canada'

I gues that answers that question then. I kind of believe that Creamware are cery good at shooting themselves in the foot. Such potential and yet they simply don't seem to bother sorting out obvious flaws in their software arsenal.

Ah well!

just use sfp mode. you don't lose! sfp mode works GREAT for tracking and it's easier than xtc mode.

I disagree. I enjoy working in XTC mode and find it more fitting for my way of working.

Its a shame that Creamware doesnt support their own ideas properly.
Allthough with a couple of tricks you can use everything you may want in XTC mode. Except for the STS samplers of course, but why would anyone want to use them, I cant imagine.

Hey Nisse
If you could explain how I can get Modular 3 working in XTC I would be very grateful. I have followed the instructions from various links on this site but I feel I must be missing something. Could you give me a step by step breakdown?

Hi.

Im not sure what links you´ve checked out, but heres the original step by step information from the Adern forum:

Posted: Sat Mar 20, 2004 4:09 pm Post subject: using modularIII patches under XTC

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I found it is possible to USE (only not modify) modular III patches under XTC:
- save your mod patch (ex:flexosaurus) under devices/synth directory
- copy one of your synth.dll and rename it (ex: flexausorus.dll) I used prodissey.dll for this
- In your cset.ini, copy the line "modular= ..." from the path section to your XTC section

Hope this clears things up.

Also check out these two links. They were very useful for me when I started fiddling in XTC mode.

Thanks for the info Nisse. It's the line,
'In your cset.ini, copy the line "modular= ..." from the path section to your XTC section' that got me stumped.I can't find the line "modular=..." in my cset.ini. Is it under a particular section? I've done the rest and I can load up a preset but I don't get any sound! Any suggestions?

As i checked these days in Cubase Sx you can use modular III as an insert fx also. i 've been using mod III synths in XTC from the first time i saw in planetz the procedure with the dll. So it's time to use these adern shapers-filters and saturators in mixing -mastering in xtc mode... great fun

Hi Nisse,

Both those links go to a Planet Z thread. Is there an actual XTC bible on Gonzoft's page?

Ack, I linked to the same page on both links. Sorry, didnt notice that I did that *blushes*

The gonzoft XTC bible, as I playfully called it, is a long and exceptionally helpful collection of hints on how to get XTC to work properly posted here on PlanetZ by Gonzoft.
