Cubasesx 2.2 is frozen when in xtc mode (all is perfect), after to have designed
or recorded an automation on a control of an effect or a
synth , I put in reading the same automatization.( R button is switched on).

Sometimes after 3- 4 second , other times after 1 - 2 minutes.
After to have designed a curve as an example on the cutoff of a synth
and after to have put in reading the same automatization, all system freeze and I must close cubase. Can You Help me?

Tankyou and sorry for my shitting english

i don't know how much help this will be, but i suspect a midi feedback loop is happening when you get freezes.

if you have cubase and an external synth both transmitting midi clock, you will get a freeze.

when you use automation cubase transmits midi. if an external synth echoes that midi message and then it is again echoed by cubase you will get a freeze.

a keyboard that transmits lots of sysex or control parameters, that can also cause a freze(you may have to delay some data minutely). a keyboard that transmits active sensing may cause freezes.

all these problems are usually solvable by using the proper settings. please do a search on "freeze" and you should find the proper combination.

also, it is not nessessary to crosspost to get help......

sorry, but no external synth is connected by midi.

The problem is not present when i automate a vst instruments, only with xtc synth or xtc effects.

Is only my problem?

My system is :

Dual athlon 2400+ tyan tiger mpx
1gb ecc registered ram
Power pulsar 15 dsp
windows xp service pack1 acpi mode
scope 4.0
cubase sx 2.2

Now the only system for run without probs
is that of setting in task manager , under
cubasesx.exe file processor affinity, only the cpu 0 active.

The problem is scope 4.0-xtc multiprocessor incompatib.

Cons? tankyou

I have exactly the SAME problem!

When I am in XTC mode and I want to apply a parameter automation on an XTC plugin, Cubase crashes. This happens during the playback, when the system reads the automations. I think this happens mostly when two parameters are altered with automation ( On the same plugin ).

I sent an email describing this problem to the support department of Creamware and I am looking forward for the answer...

...I consider that hyper threading has to do with that.
A friend of mine who has an older PC (P3 1GHz)and the same card (Pulsar 2) does not have this problem. Also another one who switched off the hyper threading has NO problem.
...Only some thoughts, i keep waiting the official answer...
