Defective A16 (not Ultra)

Channels 1-8 of my A16 have a continous backgroundnoise which is audible as well as visible in the mixer (-42dB). Channels 9-16 are o.k. Any suggestions from the Tech-Pros here what might be the reason? Unfortunately Creamware replied to my email that the unit is discontinued and technical support has been completely cancelled. So what about any further problems with this ADDA-converter?
caps on the power supply for 1-8? other bad ps part(op amp, resistor)? problems with the adat lightpipe sync(jitter), maybe dirt in the connectors? bad cables?
a problem for a tech. maybe cwa can at least get you a schematic if they can't fix it, that would give a tech a fighting chance...
