What do you want this little thing for, if you can have the BAM and the GAM from Celmo? I guess you don't known those plug-ins or you have not tryed them... you'll be amazed, they are quite better sounding than the suposdely "real" thing...On 2004-04-29 15:15, powerpulsarian wrote:
I wonder if this means it would be easy to port the Line 6 amp modeler over to the SCOPE system???
This would be a decent partnership for Creamware to go after since Line 6 is so well known. (Like Access Virus on PowerCore)

1. The Line 6 name recognition would be good for Creamware to have on board
2. There are tons of presets available for the entire Line 6 products (making it easier/faster to get to the sound you want)
3. The graphical interface for the Line 6 editor is much, much more intuitive than GAM
4. Line 6 comes with a lot more variety of effects and amp models
5. Despite what you say, with some tweaking the Line 6 models sound great and have a very dynamic responsiveness (at least in the XT 2.0 version)
I have tried Celmo's GAM, and you can get a nice sound from it. But the sounds are no better than the Line 6 sounds plus there is less variety/options and it is harder to tweak since the user interface isn't as nice as the Line 6 interface.
I know you want to support Celmo and that's great, but the GAM is not on the same level as Line 6 when it comes to the power of variety and parameters that can be tweaks - or the nice user interface that makes everything easier.
It's too bad that Celmo doesn't update the GAM with some new features that might compete better with Line 6.

this would be an interesting fact, because Digidesign uses Motorola DSPs - read: the Sharc code mentioned above is probably pretty generic, nothing highly specialized.
Which does not imply that it sounds bad, but as boiling is usually done by water, the result may not be that outstanding as it's widely accepted.
Highly speculative and no guitar experiences on my side
cheers, Tom
