Oh, they have reduced the price from 555,- EUR to 398,- EUR.

But the better way would be that the will integrate the MOD III and ST-4000 for the registered users. Not more. I would be glad about this!

Yes, we can all read. What's your point?

Two completely different things, I don't really see how they're related. CW are effectively bring out a new product range, which are 'roughly equivalent' to their former range. For example, 'Scope Project' is roughly equivalent to the Pulsar II package. Yes, Creamware are now incorporating both a plugin package and the Mod III, but this is for people who buy the new product.

A 'better deal' always come along after you buy something, whether it's a pair of jeans, a PCI card, a house...

For example, when the recent Xmas offers came along, there was little point in me belly-aching about how I was "ripped off" before because when I bought my Pulsar II card, it was more expensive and also didn't come with the Mix 'n' Master pack. Hey! Guess what? That was my decision and my responsibility. Similarly, I don't really expect CW to start throwing freebies at me just because they've revamped their product range. I made my decision, and got what I paid for.
But the better way would be [SNIP!]
To introduce yourself to the forum, let us know what CW products you use, what your system config is, what your musical interests are etc. rather than coming in out of the blue making postings which have probably raised one or two eyebrows.

I have:

1x PULSAR II
1x LUNA II

in Original-Versions and additional:

MOD II, FX-Package (not this which we are discussing about...)
AND A NON USABLE TRIPLE DAT-Plugin (Because it runs only on a WIN98-PC and I don't want to use my P4/3.06 with 1 GB RAM with this OS!!!).

--- By the Way... I have the complete TRIPLE DAT including the Hardware and printed Manuals!

Please don't missunderstand me: I don't want any freebies, but the accomodation to the official PULSAR PROJECT, the same "Standard"-Pack which even means only MOD III and ST-4000. All other Plugins I would buy for myself.

Another Suggestion to the CWA's: Who has more than one Card (i.e. my PULSAR II and LUNA II), he can also get one of the two Plug-In-Packs for a half price.

Is this not a good idea?

do you have some more good ideas?

what's the sense of thinking of nice presents for your own on costs of others??
Are you celebrating your birthday?

Sorry Vitamin C, but these kind of ideas are widely discussed already, do a search on planetz and enjoy all the pro's and contra's overthere.

I'm happy with the halved price for one plugin, it will be the Minimax, that's for sure!

edit:
@VitaminC:
you wasn't talking sp badly, sorry for my tone setting
guess I didn't read so well, or it was because of other post about wished gifts or so

i have 2x scope/sp , 3x pulsar2 , 1x pulsar1, 1x a16 ultra, 2x old a16, etc ...

Should Creamware give me the whole company as a gift, following your high-rate concept, Vitamin C?

Tempting, very tempting. I need this Mix ´n´ Master Pack.

... but still packages seem evil because they make you buy things you may not need or want. In my case the vocodizer.

? Are you sure it's possible? The activation key is rather for a whole package than for a single plugin

Should be Samplaire... The plugins have still different keys imho. The mixers itself have the mixer package 2 key.. and then the different master plugs. So it was shown on the SP4 installation (though the dot was dark for me and not cyan *g*)
So it should probably work to sell single plugins out of a pack. Also the synthpack is not keyed as synthpack but every synth is keyed itself...

Can you use the Scope 4 upgrade 50% discount to buy a pack?

BTW, does anyone know how long the discount is available after upgrading?
hubird

Post by hubird »

as stated by CWA on the site the packs (bundles) and their separate elements are excluded from the discount, alas.

Also the site says you should subsequently (bold by CWA) buy a plug with the registrating process.
I guess as long as you don't registrate the option keeps open

I can't tell you in which way the offer is presented, I must wait for registrating the 2nd hand board on my name first.

edit: I've read elsewhere you'll get a line 'the shop is switched to half-mode ' or something.

After registering 4.0 soft the following line appeared:
Notes:
This offer does not include: Third-Party products, Six-String,
Synth'n'Sampler-Pack and Mix'n'Master-Pack.

Or after registering the software go to the CW shop and you'll see which prices are reduced.

Thanks Hubrid and Samplaire

I think I've registered. I got the email with the activation key and it's all installed (for what it's worth). But logging into the shop the prices are the same.

No great problem cos I probably won't buy anything anyway but confusing nevertheless.

@Counterparts:
you can´t compare Software with Jeans....
For me this is a silly argument.Usually you get a advantage in Software sector. For Example:As Steinberg VST-User i can Upgrade to SX for 199Euro instead of 799Euro as New User. From Native Instruments i get a reduced price for every Device i own of the Native Complete Bundle...and so on.
If Creamware wants to sell more DSP-Boards they should reduce the prices of the Boards and not selling out their software to new users and kicking their old users into their asses. With this sales policy Creamware gone into insolvency.

Creamware should offer an upgrade for old users.I have spend nearly 8000Euro for 3 Creamware-Boards and additional Devices, and i´m not willing to spend 800Euro to get the
Scope professional Software. In my case 250Euro for this upgrade would be a fair price.

Since nearly two years i have freezed my Creamware System, and if creamware not changing their price policy they can´t sell anything to me in the future.

Sorry for my bad english

Greetings to all

Well I can understand how it must feel  - it would be a great surprise to have some 'free' plugins in the update. But, this is the way Creamware has to stay alive, and they must make part of their money from selling plugins.

Something that keeps popping into mind, though, is that other German company Access-Music. They seem to constantly give their users new updates, filters, features, sound sets, etc.. but then again that synth is selling like crazy and they are in a different situation.

But, alas, when I really think about it, all I really keep coming back to anyways is Modular, so.. I'll just stop sulking and get back to patching

What are you banging on about? Perhaps if you took the time to actually read my post, you'd possibly understand the analogy I was making.

Maybe my english is to bad.I understand your
thread in this way:If you buy something earlier it is normal to pay more than later.

Thats not my opinion in this case.Read my examples.I understand that Creamware has to
make money, but also i think they are on the
wrong way with their price policy.

In short:From me they can get 250Euro for an upgrade to Scope professional or nothing.

sincerely yours

I'm sorry, I should have been more clear in my posting. I was really making a reference to Contract Law, which applies to the sale/purchase of any product or service be it software, a pair of jeans or a massage.
