hi all,

I've never felt the need to use the XTC mode
but i was thinking lets give it a try....
I open cubase and in the vst instruments XTC I only have the minimax were are the rest of the instruments?
I've two folders found with xtc files:program files/steinberg/cubase/xtc
and program files/steinberg/vstplugins/xtc.

what do I do wrong

thanks

First thing to do: check out Gonzoft's XTC tricks.

In cubase head over to the Plugin device listing and hit "refresh" then scroll down to all XTC plugs and check which ever creamware apps that are not checked, then look in your VST or effect XTC folders and all will be shown..

If you have never used XTC mode Cubase will need to be refreshed to find asll the .dll extensions to add them to the folders..

G'luck!

Hi Virtual,

Yep im obsessed already lol, as far as your normal VSTi's, that depends, the standard folder is in somthing like Program Files/Steinberg/Cubase-or-Nuendo/VST that should take you to your regular plugs.

If I maymake a suggestion and you can do this at any time you like even after all is installed would be the following.

Create a folder in the root Steinberg directory called " VST " so it would be (program files/steinberg/VST), now copy/move any and all installed VSTi's and folder yoi created into this folder leaving all the stock installed steinberg plugs where they are, and then in the pluggin device page check off the alternate vst directory and brows to the newly created folder, use this folder to house any plugs/vsti's/xtc stuff you install thats not a stock installed steinberg pluggin.

This is good for a couple of resons, one being it keeps all you specific installed VST stuff on its own and the other being that it makes it easy to navigate and also use a directory for other apps such as wavelab/soundforge the reason I say to do this is because there are some VSTi's that are stock with nuendo that can not be used outside of nuendo.

And most important, refresh the pluggin page again and brows thru and make sure everything is checked off that should be in the pluggin listing

Cheers!
