glitches in SFP3.1c.

I have read the board a lot lately but have`nt encountered anyone having similar problems. Maybe you could help me..

There are clicks when playing any synth in SFP 3.1c(no other programs running besides SFP) . These clicks are more like glitches
and are very distinctive on Masterverbs (you can hear it clearly on reverb, because it sounds like the glitches are sent to
reverb as well).
After thorough testing I found that my Pulsar II is operating glitch free only when
ULLI is set to the lowest 3ms in 44,1 Khz mode. But whenever i switch the midi clock (on the synths)to external it`s again full of clicks. Very strange indeed...
I have done all the tweaks possible in XP (from turning off System Restore to disableing the auto insert notification for CDROM

I`ve also installed my Pulsar II to second computer (intel D865Perl Mobo, WinXP, Matrox G550), and the results we exactly the same.
So I`m starting to suspect that the problem is in pulsar drivers or the board itself...

My setup:
Processor: Intel Pentium IV 2,0Ghz
Mainboard: ASUS P4B266 SE
Graphics card: Matrox G550
RAM: 768MB Kingston PC2100
CD writer: Pioneer DVR-106D
Win XP Professional, Standard mode
(No IRQ sharing)

I'm pretty sure I have experienced the same thing. And as you say it's easy to notice if you have a instance of masterverb open - actually I like the sound itself, but it just shouldn't be there. And I couldn't either determine any reason for this, though I havn't really investigated the source to the problem.

This will definitely be the ULLI setting....give it more latency.....even on the highest setting you shouldn't have a problem playing keys etc.

Plato, the number of crackles increases as I raise the ULLI setting! Believe it or not!!!

is bus mastering disabled on the matrox cards?

Yes, bus mastering for the matrox is disabled. I have tried to tweak the pci latency value in bios. Nothing. As a matter of fact i have tried all the possible tweaks, nothing seems to cure the strange behaviour.
Garyb, is it possible to download the previous software version, i got the board with SFP3.1c?

Hi ortz, I have the same configuration but with 1.7 Ghz on Asus P4b266 and Matrox G550 too... I must work with 7ms (44.1 khz).
I read somewhere that audio card should be installed on PCI 2 onc Asus motherboard, and then from bios you have to give an IRQ also you install XP in standard mode. I don' know if this can help you...

You might want to try switching the effects off in the synth's effects section and see if the sound still clicks. i know when switching MIDI to external this can cause clicks in the delay section. If the MIDI is set to internal and the tempo entered manually then the clicks in the delay section of the synth will stop clicking. This is a known problem with using external sync.

Not sure if this is related to your problem or not but give it a try.

I have the problem periodically when I have just a MasterVerb open/running. Try to have only a MasterVerb open for a few hours and see if you notice the small "not meant to be there but beautiful" glitches.....

I have recorded them and will post some soon for you to hear what I/we are talking about...

try to run sfp in low priority mode!
is there a software like wincinema running in the background?

I`ll try another mobo and graphics card as Zer suggests and will report you back- nothing else seems to help!

Woah, before doing anything drastic, just try disabling graphics acceleration.
Also set PCI Latency to 64 in your BIOS
