I recently loaded my PC with Windows XP (previously had Windows 98). When I installed CUBASE 5.0, I received the following error:
"The procedure entry point SMapLS_IP_EBP_12 could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll."
This version ran with no problems on Windows 98. I thought it might be an issue with Windows XP, but I have successfully installed an odler version of CUBASE on Windows XP with no problems. Any ideas?
CUBASE 5.0 VST 32
It's me again. Someone directed me towards a patch on the Steinberg service site. I downloaded and installed it, and now receive the following error:
"SYNCROSOFT POS ERROR MESSAGE
An error has been signaled by the Protection Object Server. >Application 'Cubase VST/32' has caused the error
>No Protection Device connected.
Connect device and click OK to retry. Click cancel to abort"
once this error message is cancelled, a new one appears stating:
"The copy protection key could not be found! Please make sure it is plugged into the printer port!"
I guess I'm a step ahead, but am still confused about this error. Again, does anyone have any words of advice?
Thanks

I know that you need to have the dongle removed to install Cubase and the dongle drivers...so perhaps this is a side-effect of installing the patch with the dongle in-situ?
You could try: uninstall Cubase and the dongle driver, physically remove the dongle, re-install Cubase and your patch and then plug the dongle back in.
Hopefully that will solve your current problem!
