Hi,

I realise that this question may have been asked before and I apologise in advance for asking again but....

does anybody know or can point me in the right direction for information regarding the largest hard drive size that win 98SE can handle?

Been thinking of getting bigger hard drive but something has been telling me that win 98SE can only handle up to a certain size.
( I might be confusing this with the SP1 requirement for XP to handle more than 137GB)

TIA.

P.S. I tried searching. Couldn't locate anything.

I think it is 127MB with 98, but I am not shure. However, I would believe, that it actually is partition size - meaning, that if you partition with the tools, that the hard drive manufacturer provides, I don't think it will be a problem. Also, I think you can put any big hard drive in the machine, and just ONLY use the max alowed size.

A friend told me you might have to flash your BIOS to see the larger size if you have an old motherboard.

Yes, GB - sorry.

I think the "flash your MOBO" thing is for an older 32MB limitation.
