I played the Ion at NAMM....a bit confusing on the user interface, which is not what I expected from first glance.
Sound was...well, very sharp and edgy to me...but there you are at the show, with lots of noise around, and having to use medium quality headphones, so...I'd like to hear it through something like the Mackie 824s before passing judgement.
Certainly the price is great! Just didn't like the interface (for example, you have 3 osc sections, and they are stacked top to bottom in reverse order, 3, 2, 1 ...so, I go to adjust the top row, expecting Osc 1, but it was Osc 3. Not intuitive).

Actually, Noah is much more original with its capability to transform into several different types of synths - not just VA.
It also a good value considering with most synths you don't get that type of flexibility. You would likely have to purchase several different synths to get everything in Noah. Plus you can expand it as new devices are released.
