for all with hyperthreading problems, here comes a workaround:
Open the taskmanage and select sfp under "processes" and choose "process affinity".

Here you can assign SFP to processor 0:
all the best,

if you assign SFP to processor 0 will you lost half processing power ? or I'm saying a great bullshit ?

no,
sfp is running on logical processor 0 only!
(the cubase2/n2 audio engine seems to run on cpu 1)
we got less crackles, if sfp is set to processor 0!
(sfp is not desinged for multiprocessor support)
for sfp, it´s just like a ht-free setup!

the priority of your cpu-power-ressource should be the audio engine, not the sfp-surface

Winxp & 2k will load balance everything evenly across multiple cpu's (Logical or physical). By setting an affinity you insure that the process (which you gave cpu affinity to) only stays on 1 cpu, but the OS still load balances everything else that isn't given an affinity as well.

I recomend to get this thread moved to "tips and tricks". I don't have HT, but it looks like a good solution.

yes, I'm agree .
Andre , do you suggest to put the CPU affinity for the audio engine (Sonar 2.2 in my case) assigned to CPU 1 ?

just try it

the steinberg audio engine is working on procesor 1.
the n2/SX2 gui engine is working on processor 0.
(if multiprocessor is selcted in sx/n2 only, for shure...)
seems logical to me, to set the sfp-gui to processor 0 too...

is there a dual-processor-support in sonar like in sx/n2?
if not, this could be a workaround for non-ht-coded- apps ?!
