The title says it all.

How to send MIDI time to an XTC synth with Cubase SX 2.0?

I need my SB404 to be in sync with Cubase SX2.0.

sx clock is not so solid, you'd be better setting tempo to internal in sb404 at the same speed than in sx.

Lot more stable clock

I think you're right. I always had problems with disappearing notes (notes not playing)when I synced the SB 404 to SX.
When I set the SB 404 to the same tempo as SX the results are better.

But SX can't be that bad, I hope.

To enable the midi clock from cubase sx, choose sync setup from the transport menu.
After you have set it up (choose the destination midi ports) you can enable sync with the transport bar. Good luck !

Yes, that's the theory for SX. It's manual says it's a bad MIDI clock master.

In practice this doesn't work with SFP devices: their timing jumps around, generating pops and clicks. You don't want this

A sample-accurate sync for sequencers and modulation can be made by recording a Flexor ramp or mod signal to an audio track and feed it back from SX to the modular - I'm sorry, modular is not supported under XTC mode.

SFP midi clocks don't sync well to Cubase, so it's practically unusable. Best thing is to set them to internal clock...
