Now it's cook'n.
sounds great really really really LOUD hehehehehe.
I'm sure some of my neighbours have other opinions.

The mix sounded extra lush to me - very nice.

Aging Tangerine Dream fan, my foot!

Where are my light-sticks?...

This sounds really good but I would tend to drown a couple of elements in reverbs to add space.
Are we listening?..

Thanks for the follow up Brett. Much appreciated.

Paul - will I ever lose the "Ageing TD Fan" tag in your eyes  What a memory. Glad you liked the track though.
Just in the process of finishing an "ageing TD style track" (well - 50% there).

136 is one of my favourite tempos.
Because I have the feeling that a track in that tempo gets faster and faster. So your new version.
I aggre with Paul not bad for an aging TD fellow. The track benefits from the new tempo, now it has a real drive.
I hope trance is one of your finishied thingies now
Only few days to go, I look forward for your present.

Thanks Chris,
I know just how much you dislike trance, but sadly, I have to tell you that there is one more in the pipeline (Touch Me - about 25% done).
I'm very curious about what you're up to for Sunday. I'm sure that you're planning something. Trepidation (wortbuch vielleicht?) is a word that comes to mind. Perhaps I'll run off for the day and deny my age

Thanks for the birthday wishes folks.

I am very conscious and feeling just a little bit guilty that my first humble attempt at trance should attract so many hits (425 at this point)when there are so many better tracks and mixes out there.
But I suppose you know when a track is popular because others (Maket) use your topic for advertising space
Just kidding Maket

Hey Man,

This tune sounds very oldschool to me. It's trance from like 1998 which i definately like. You lead however needs to grow some muscle. You need a bit of filter envelope modulation to make it sound like a real powerful trancelead. Just take down the filter on it and raise the env mod. Then play with the decay of the filter envelope.

I agree with the comments about the bass. It's too tame. You need to make it more powerful. But the arrangement is totally complete. It's just the sounds which need a little update. These hats are nice but for the more commercial trance a 808 isn't the way to go. You definately need 909 action here. 909 hats are trance itself.

Keep it up though! Great track

Thanks for the tips and comments Dave.
The lead was better with the 120 BPM version, using the envelopes (or at least having "movement" in it) but I lost most of it on the remix trying to get a dirtier & bigger sound.
And, yes, it does sound oldschool - what do you expect from a 50 year old
Anyone got any 909 hat samples for me?

Hello Neil,
Hope you are well. As you can imagine i'm as busy as ever (if not more!) so i'm not really back yet, this is just a flying visit.
Sadly i've only had time to give this track a couple of spins and have not read all the posts, so please forgive me if i say anything outrageous!
But to your credit, i dont think this track needs to be studied too closely, as it just about hits the spot. I dont know anything about trance, but to my untrained ear it sounds perfectly credible and there are no technical issues that jump out at me. The 'artificial intellegence blah blah blah' samples work perfectly by the way...you've got them just right.

On the minor gripes and matters of opinion side of things...

I found the change in level at the begining slightly abrupt, perhaps turning up the quiet section ever so slightly would help

I love bleeps and squelches (303 stuff i think)and you've got some good stuff going on here but when i'm in a club i like to feel all that in my chest and i think that you could push them forward a bit or perhaps put the main lead stuff back a bit to make them a bit more punchy, but i could be wrong as my listening conditions are less than scientific!

I also found the breakdown half way through a bit on the thin side, maybe another layer of strings and/or a change in tune the second time round (the strings repeat themselves, i hope i'm making sense) perhaps go higher just before everything kicks back in.

...and a very minor thing...i do like the 'artificial blah blah blah' sample and it fits the track perfectly, but its not as interesting or thought provoking as the sample you used for 'hell'...something to think about for your next track perhaps...

Anyway, i'm still working on those tracks i was working on, hope to finish by christmas (i really need to speed up music wise)and may have something for planet Z by then also. Take it easy, let me know when you have something new...

Thanks for looking in Alex (Lexfx) - I was getting a bit worried about where you'd disappeared to. As I've said before - you are overdoing it man
Your comments are well appreciated and taken on board for the future.
Looking forward to your next "Z" uploads(s)

Hmmm, what can I say...
rather commercial and retro (early-mid 90's)sounding trance. Sounds aren't too original, but I really liked the vocal samples. The rest I couldn't really get into.
The mix sounded good to me, although could do with some nice spatial fx (reverb, delay) here and there.

Thanks for replying KoS,
I was hoping for feedback from you on this one. Well, I had to have a try at the genre but I've learnt a lot (from others) ready for another attempt in the future.
It was fun doing it and I'll be taking everyones feedback on board for next time.
Thanks
