why would anyone mix using a creamware mixer rather than the native one? After all , its a lot of measing about and once u made all the conections, thay dont even show up as what thay are in the mixers... so, id like to know ur preforances befor i spend a late night on the buses  Do thay give better responce, headroom, feel , sound?

Compared to what, I'm not sure. I use both the BigMixer and the 2448 mixer for various purposes. As far as sound quality and features they're both fine.

But.. both of these devices still have lingering bugs that should have probably been addressed years ago.

Is anyone using either of these mixers and you haven't seen any bugs? I'd be interested to know. Could be a config issue on my end but I don't think so. The bugs aren't show stoppers, just annoyances.

The smaller mixers seem fine but I don't use them as much.

Unless you use XTC mode, you can't use CW's effects on native mixer.

Yes you can, in logic, it's pretty simple btw, using the IOHelpers devices in logic...

It is also doable in cubaseSX1, and especialy in cubaseSX2

xtc's sound quality is MUCH better than sfp mode(speaking about mixing in the sequencer here....).in recording, however, the difference is not really noticeable as either way(xtc or sfp)the file is still made of what comes through the card.i think that xtc sounds as good as sfp mixers do,but it is a liitle different.to each their own.

i use either xtc w/ the native mixer if my source is my sequencer.this works great and it's simple.if my source was adats or vdat or other non-sequencer source,i'd obviously(and happily) use the excellent sfp mixer.99.99999% of my recording goes through the sfp mixer.

The IO device in Logic is quite usefull yes. The problem with this however is that the effect will be delayed by the amount of your latency value, twice two, due to the use of ASIO. First you have to send your signal out through an ASIO channel and then back again.

that's no problem in mixdown as that latency can be compansated for.

Or you can bus the signal out to sfp mixer then add the effects...

So the latency is exactly the same as other channels

I know SX2 has full latency compensation, but I am not sure about Logic. It should have, though.

I used to use that procedure before.

Of course, busing all tracks through a SFP mixer will solve this too.
