Oi,

The VSTi you wanna be usuing to get that sound is Reaktor, and the module that emulates the pop trance sound the best is called Junatic,if you have R4 ill send ya some patches, I have loads of that sound, and I dont mean cheesy patches, amazxing patches for that, I am over it so I would be willing to share my self made trance lead patches of that sound if you are interested.

The next best synth for this imo is Nord 2, this synth ownes for this, but towards the end I found myself using R4 more than nord for trance music due its its unique modulation and routing possibities, plus r4 sounds amazing in its own right.

For sure try reaktor for trance leads...

Cheers!

PS. just wanted to add, that what makes the R4 Junatic synth have that sound its the oscilators assigned to the syth and since its modular you can custom the synth and make your own variation, the sub osc adds that deep grit sound hence "zing" your lookin for and the EQ give you the ability to tailor sound to taste, throw own reaktor chorus to that sound to widen the stereo field and connect its delay/verbs and your in buisiness..

Jesus man that sound has been so fucking over-used I can't possibly understand why people still want it so badly. Ugh! Now go and be original and creative instead of yet another copycat.

Oh, and fuck cheesy trance!!!

i think that Snake was kidding with you (check the big smiley)... + the fact that he writes some pretty great trance himself:

well, half kidding certainly. No need to start calling me names Oioi, if anything it makes you sound bad rather than me.

I do mean it about trying to replicate "that" trance sound. Sorry but you can't get any more unoriginal and boring than that. If you want it, buy a JP8080 and dial in the supersaw preset and forget all about being creative yourself. As wavelength said, I do make trance myself (thanx for the plug ), but for me trance should be about adventure, emotion, and hopefully a bit of originality. (IMO)
Of course I too try to create a "classic" sound sometimes, even if just for fun, but with pretty much every single euro-trance track using the same sort of sound makes it more "annoying" than classic IMO.

"If I have seen more than others, it's because I have stood on the shoulders of greatness."

We all start somewhere.....and we learn a lot from those who came before...

I wouldn't get "bovered".

Oioi, I'm sure you'll be forgiven, but next time think twice before writing such bad language. Please, don't bring that evil mood here again (we had a few evil guys here, and they got banned after a few damned posts  )
Currently, this forum is very kind and willing, nobody will irritate you on purpose.

No offense, just a note

Enjoy your path searching for that sound!

Sorry for sounding like a muppet!

Anyway, I recently heard someone refer to euro-trance as "Walt Disney-house", I thought that was rather appropriate a description
Sorry 'bout that, it's just that here in Holland we are exposed to an rather large amount of this kind of stuff since most of the big trance producers are dutch (Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Tiesto etc...)

yea but there is a huge diferance between euro cheese and wot the likes of Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Tiesto etc make.

wot i would call cheese is that dance crap that enter the charts like ian van dhal and all that rubish.. there IS a diffrance!! My point is there is pants trance with just the on-off bass and a euro lead over the top, then theres masterpeaces of trance that are well produced, beautiful and very uplifting.
