I think i've done it this time. Dont know what happened but it was probably my fault.

Your all going to be so disapointed by this tune after all this hassle!

Its something i did for a college assignment about a year ago. Me and a friend made a pop/R&B tune with some boy band type singers then i did a D&B remix to finish of my portfolio. Its very messy as it was finished at 4am when the deadline was 9am.

If you listen carefully you can hear some glitches which i sometimes get playing back a sequence and which definately gets worse when i record into wavelab, if anyone has any suggestions on how to prevent this i would be grateful.

I was beginning to wonder if you were going to be the first person to make it to fire-breathing, levitating super Pulsar guru, purely by attempting to upload one track

Am I disappointed? Well, it's not my choice of style but there is a nice, fresh, pleasant mood to the track.
Like the warmth of the pad and the E Piano. SOme nice bass licks too.
Personal tastes - I would have liked a bit more variety in the drum loops. Okay there are a couple of breaks and variations, but I switched off to the drum track a couple of times. A bit more creative vocal line would've been nice too, and perhaps more of a moving bass on the E Piano as opposed to mainly straight chords.
I liked it though and look forward to the next upload.

On the glitches front, I'm not a wavelab person, but in Cubase I do suffer if the old CPU is getting to about 60% usage. I get a lot of crackles when this happens. Could it be a similar problem? I tried to nail it down to something else in your track and the only thing I could come up with is that the "glitches" happen with big bass levels, sometimes from the E Piano bass chords and sometimes from the pads (at least that is what I can hear on my system). Is it just a simple clipping from distortion?

Thanks for the encouraging words, i honestly appreciate it.

I'm pleased that although this music is not your thing, you still found something positive to say.

I think you've hit the nail on the head about having some movement in the bass notes of the electric piano - its an equation that i shall add to my 'rhodes tune' formula!

The song was clipped during recording (It was 4 am and i either didnt notice, didnt care, or both).

But there are also glitches which i think could be down to CPU overload like you mentioned, is there any way of avoiding this?

Thanks again.

good to have your song here now
I like it, it reminds me to some nice D&B songs I have on cd's.
I just think you could emphasize the arrangement. by adding some fills, when a break comes etc.

Thanks for taking the time to listen and reply.

Some elements of the song seem to have been lost during MP3 encoding, for example the delay on the rhodes and vocals seems to have disappeared (at least it is not apparent on these tiny speakers). But as i've said, the song's over a year old now and I doubt i'll be going back to it.

What i find really funny and ironic is that the two failed attempts to post the song have generated over 200 views and 17 replies, where as this posting only 50 views and 2 replies!

And i never even intended to post the song on this site anyway!

But don't get me wrong - I'm grateful that you took the time and pleased with the feedback. Thanks again.

Right then...now i have a fanbase...i'll make some more music...

Hmm,
Glitches and CPU usage
Missing effects in the final mix.

Something tells me that you missed a step out somewhere.
I have some ideas to help with the CPU problems, but the answer will be too big for a reply to this thread.
Feel free to email me with your email address and I'll offer my 10 cents worth.
I'll explain what I did with my "Hell" track recently when I started having CPU problems.

Also, why not look at the workshop of Chris Werner in the Pulsar Study forum. Although Cubase based it has a lot on the Pulsar/Asio side which is useful too and it is the method that I've now adopted for working on all tracks. You may also find some projects that can help in the relevant forum too.
Regarding the responses, weekends can be quiet, people download as time allows during the week, and sometimes don't reply until they've listened to a track several times - how else can you get a relaistic appraisal and help/comments? Many, if they don't like the track or have no comments or suggestions to offer, will not respond. Normally expect less than 10% of the hits to respond.
Everyone has their own lives to live
I probably respond to too many, having the time to do it, but perhaps I don't offer enough constructive or helpful things.
I suppose it is a balance.
