no devices tab anymore in multimedia properties (win98SE)

as the subject says :
no devices tab anymore in multimedia properties (win98SE).
when I click on the devices tab , the multimedia properties shut down.

somebody could help me ?

it's pretty common for an os to become corrupt.if reinstalling the cw driver is not possible/doesn't help,reinstall 98 over the old install.if that doesn't work,start fresh.make absolutely sure your hardware connctions are good first,of course.(card firmly seated...)

just my simplistic solution....i'm assuming everything was working fine and then not....
