hi all
just wondering if any1 had any experience with there units? whats the a-d conversion like compared to other stuff? eg. a16 etc
i was thinking of using 1 as a A/D between a supernova2 and my pulsar 2 card.
recommended?
presonus firestation?
Just my opinion....
For the cost of the Firestation.....you could do better with a standalone dedicated A/D.
The A/D conversion in the Pulsar isn't too bad as is....so in order to actually improve upon it to a noticeable degree...you might want to look at some higher end pieces.
Apogee, Lucid, and Benchmark are a few names of manufacturers of high end conversion products.
Hope this helps.

i'll love a apogee or a RME converter, but i dont have much funds. i can get a firestation fairly cheap from overseas (1100-1200 aus dollars), which is ok, the features on it are not too bad, preamps, firewire, mlan, midi, but i'll be using the a/d only at this stage. Pure high end sound isnt essential, i just need to pipe the outs from a supernova2 into my pc.
of course it would be super cool to get the expansion board, but novation scrapped the adat project. i've been rallying them for months with a petition. Since it's not financially viable for them the project got shafted.
because of this, i aint gonna buy another novation product in the future. damn morons.
hence i'm getting a a/d..
