i have done a lot of modification in order to reduce the noise from my PC. i will upgrade soon my web-site with a complete description of those!
for now, i want you to see the latest:

Image

in order to remove some heat from the case and be able to turn down the speed of the CPU fan without overheating the CPU, i "removed" the PSU from the case hand hanged it on the outside!!

it may seem absurd, but it works!

(OK OK... i know i'm completely mad!!)

PS: if you cannot see the photo it is at

Hey bosone,
How has the PSU on the outside of the case worked for you? How much did it reduce the temperature for the cpu?

i didn't do deep testing...
i moved it to the outside just to be able to redure the RPM of the CPU fan without risk.
now i'm running at 5200 RMP (instead of 6500RM) and my cpu at full load reach 50°C after hours of work
