Synth with "Patch Morphing"
A synth where you have two banks, each with it's own patch loaded. You toggle between the patches with either a "button" or even better, with the modwheel. Then allow the user to determine the length of time it takes for the morph to happen. The only synth I know of that can do this is the last Oberheim Synth(I think it was the OB12). Also, anyone who has used the Mackie digital 8 bus can think of this like the EQ morph. Imagine the possibilities when you change between drastically different patches. It could also be a DSP helper. For instance, you wanted to change the bass sound in the breakdown of the song, this would be a simple & fast solution.
these may not be exactly what you wish, but they come pretty close. great machines:

The Transplanet are very similar to what I was thinking although with one difference. Both of the "patches" reside in the same preset. If you could load two patches you already know you want, that would save a lot of time. I enjoy programming synths as much as the next guy. However, I don't & I'm sure many others don't like designing the same patch twice. The Transplanet is a very cool synth in it's own right. Thanks
I have been dreaming about this feature too. Unfortunatley the closest you get is the Transplanet and some other synths from the same developer. They are wery good in their own right, so it is'nt critisism on the synths, they just don't do what i wan't the way i wan't it.
BTW. the Nord Lead has preset morphing as well. At least model II and III.

I love this idea' !!!
Iv'e been thinking on this idea' since i bought a YAMAHA AN1X.
Well you don't morph between two different presets...you morph between two "scenes" But the thing is you can thweak the two "scenes" so they wont sound a bit like eachother =).
It's like having two different presets within your reach at the same time.
Then if you want you can actually mix them an voila' you have a third sound =).
This option in a synth would be really nice !!!
