I agree too on that one J9K... It was there from v5.2 i think... Using this, you can use SFP effects directly in inserts of logic mixer without the need to use XTC mode at all.
I'm trying to create an equivalent plugin using VST and Asio standard actually at the moment. So this too cool feature would be available in other apps like Ableton Live for example...

Well, Logic 6 is announced, and it's not going to be available to windows users. On 2002-11-28 11:24, paulrmartin wrote:
It was promised that PC users were going to have updates, why the surprise? We might even get another one....Keep watching

I'm not a windows user (not for music anyway), but I must admit, i'm starting to feel a bit peaved. I swear I just upgraded to Logic 5 (cost of $399 AUS) a few months ago, and now I find I'll need to shell out $299 AUS to get meself to version 6.0. What's wrong with them giving us 5.6, instead of having to pay for 6.0? All in the space of a year? Bastards!
Okay, 6.0 has some great features, but only one is a "real killer" (the ability to render). I'm sure I will upgrade, because Logic is such a great product, but I'll be really pissed if they release Logic 7.0 before 6.8 comes out, if you take my point....
The 'Freeze' feature would seem a great helper as well (to me).
Personally I've worked in studios before that were MAC/SGI/WinNT/SuN and I like Logic enough to consider a crossgrade (IF and WHEN they update their bus & cpu problems) but adding on another upgrade fee this soon is definately making the premium prices that Macs sell at even less attractive.

yeah, this is apple's doing.they did worse to windows users.(charged them for the 5.0 upgrade and then discontinued the product weeks later)....it IS a great product.stinky company though.................in an email, emagic hinted that they may upgrade pc products yet.(well, maybe not.all they said was "keep watching our website".)

Here's the real thing: once Logic 6 is out, 5.6 for PC will be coming out(maintenance package).
Take it easy now. I am positive that, like me, you haven't begun to scratch the surface of what Logic can do. It's not going to disintegrate after the updates are all in( and there may be more than you think).
Just have fun!

It was the same right after the Cubase 5 for Mac was announced by steinberg. They also stated on their web site there will be Cubase 4 update with the 5 engine and it will be free for v4 users. I didn't want to upgrade to v5 because my computer was rather old those days so I was very happy with that statement. Months later the statement dissapeared without any explanation... Who cares of us customers at all? So both Emagic & Steinberg seem to have similar policy - 'give us your money and pi** off'.Okay, 6.0 has some great features, but only one is a "real killer"
As Paul said let's be hapy and don't think of those bastards.

No it will not "disintegrate" but Cubase for Windows will continue to improve while Logic for Windows will stop. I am very angry and I can never forgive Apple for what it did.
keep me updated on your progressOn 2002-11-27 10:34, marcuspocus wrote:
