Mine is labeled 12V 3.3A 40W. As a good EE never goes towards the limits of the PSU, everthing above 2A could probably work.
The only aspect might be, that there's more ripple on the voltage. But only very cheap PCBs can't cope with ripple.

get one from SC support. most of the mainboard failures are from bad or replacement power supplies.

the hum may indicate a ps that is not properly regulated.
