Do I need a better Graphics card?

Hi guys, I''ve noticed that if I open or shut a window or Change from my DAW to the Sonic Core program I get spikes in my latency monitor, which tells me my graphics DX driver has a large DPC count.

I am on an Intel DP35DP Mobo still running a Nvidia Geforce 8400GS(because it has no fan)

Not sure if it could be USB or Hard drive related but notice crackles when there's a change in windows.

sometimes when a graphics card dies, the system still works. the only problem is that graphics are not offloaded to the GPU, but instead are handled by the CPU.
