Ya know....
As a Mac user, (but not a Logic user), I have been scrolling through forums all day.....and they all sound the same.
A lot of people (PC users) are portraying the Apple / Emagic deal like some sort of shower rape scene in a male prison. Although the financial details of the merger have not been revealed, I doubt it was some sort of hostile takeover....and more than likely, Emagic made a pretty hefty wad of cash on the agreement.
I guess what I am saying is:
Emagic sold their company....and Apple bought it. Now, it makes sense that Apple is discontinuing PC products from a financial point of view.
Apple isn't in the PC business......so dedicating manpower and finances for PC products that don't support your core business doesn't make for good economics.
If you (as a PC user) are mad at somebody, then it should be Emagic, not Apple. If you don't like Apple....that's fine. I don't like having people who have never really used a Mac tell me I am an elitist snob using inferior overpriced equipment. Value is in the eye of the beholder.
Apple commercials:
So what if they show people who have switched to Mac? Does that make the new Mac users / old PC users *stupid* or something?
It's just marketing people....
I mean, jeez...if I hear that punk-ass kid say "Dude, you're gettin a Dell" one more time I think I am gonna scream. You want to talk about idiots...now THERE is an idiot!
Ok...
I am sure I'll get flamed, but that's ok
One more thing...and this has really just hit home with me today after reading so much emotion tied into the Logic thing....
If you are a PC user, and you have a working copy of Logic right now...well...isn't it ironic that you are upset over a product that doesn't even exist yet? I mean, doesn't it really just point to how we have all been duped into the *software* scam?
Why should we get mad that we cannot PAY AGAIN for a product we ALREADY HAVE?
Apple buying Emagic isn't going to make you ANY LESS PRODUCTIVE than you are RIGHT NOW. The future is uncertain and doesn't yet exist...the past is the past and cannot be changed...all we have is right now...today.
Think about that.
And for what it's worth....if Creamware WOULD get off their German fannys and make a serious sequencing / recording package for SFP....I'd buy it.....and I'm a Mac user on Pro Tools.
One door closes...another one opens. Simple economics....
Have a nice day all.
