I suppose also hardware support will be discontinued, like for their patchbays etc... I'm sorry, all you Logic users!

Hmm, bad news
Gonne write a spinoff of Supertramps song: Unlogical song...
Anyone out there ever connected the two worlds, e.g. Mac with Logic, PC with SFP ??
Guess we PC-world-habitants will have to get a Mac sooner or later to keep working with current emaic products.
Btw. the press-release mentions they will stop offering PC-based products. Will they keep supporting their installed base? Shame on Apple/Emagic if they wouldn't.
I'll wear black clothes this week

1. Against: This is normal in business. This also sounds a bit like 1950 soviet propaganda. On 2002-07-01 10:27, Spirit wrote:
Amusing that Apple says they're "excited to have emagic join the team". Join the team ? They just bought them out !
2. Pro: What would you say if you owned Apple: 'We bought Emagic to control the whole MIDI market' or 'We are sorry for buying Emagic - PC users, don't be angry on us, we will give every PC user a decent Mac to make you happy'
Considering the 2 situations they chose the best way to inform people about the fact.
My opinion in this topic doesn't mean I'm happy to hear Logic/Pc will be discontinued touugh I'm a Mac user. I agree with all your opinions. Unfair!!!
What a shame!!!!!!. New products, upgrades etc then DEATH to the PC musician as far as Emagic is concerned. After paying so much for Logic Audio. We lose. The guy with the HACKS has nothing to LOSE. I am presently checking Ebay for a Mac. Also considering going over to Cubase. This would surely cause a drop in Emagic sales for PCs. I am finished with it. Pronto
You can't build a MAC. Yoy have to buy one. Sales UP

I am wondering if that is their reason for not releasing an upgrade to Version 5. for the other Logic sequencing products? We are the consumers. We have the POWER. We must not be GUIDED into any specific direction by any CORPORATE body. On second thought as the fox said "There a better sequencing grapes out there". Keep courage.

sorry to be the bearer of such bad news.
What has happened sucks bad. Apple should stick to what they are good with and leave specialist companies alone. They are no better than microsoft. It will just stifle competition.
However...
I do want to just remind you that the current version of logic is still rather good and if they plan to continue supporting it till september then all/any bugs from 5.1 should be ironed out. So dont panic just yet.
Remember, Fat boy slim still uses an atari, I doubt his upgrade paths are much better
Right now where did I put my cubase dongle.
