Facts aren't negative; facts are facts. This bug is a fact that anyone can reproduce. On 2002-06-24 02:09, BIT01 wrote:
Dont be negative some1 will come up saying this is becuse u use pulsar in low quality!
Use 24 bit 96Khz so u'll get half of synth and half of fx compared to 44 khz 16 bit, and u'll realize u need more dsp and go buy the Scope SRB....
Truth or myth ?

maybe the effect speeds are calculated in samples per second, so then it would be logical that the speeds change when you change samplerates. Still sounds a bit silly to me, but I always work at the same settings anyway so it doesn't really bother me.
With software as complex as this, the user is ALWAYS beta-testing. It's not just Pulsar/Scope, it's Cubase, Logic, Windows, etc.

Well, I think there are some noticeable exceptions to the rule you explain; Samplitude is a good example. That's professional work. And yes, this is a silly bug!On 2002-06-24 05:14, King of Snake wrote:

btw I've been using the demo for a lot more than 60 minutes but it's still working. Pretty strange, not that I'm complaining!

i heard uad from my friend and sounds nice, uad's compresor sounds better than any natives, reverb is nice too and uad's eq is specialy funtastick.
in other hand vinco is the best compressor i ever had in my computer

i was thinking about "not to buy any device from cw anymore" but now i'm not sure. you know, if i buy vinco, some reverbs, and other cw soft-stuff i must buy another board again (i just sold one pulsar) and this is too much money, while with uad i got everything in basic configuration. only problem with uad is latency. my friend use cubase's track delay to compesation and than everything goes in sync. this is the better way than use delay compesators. this can be good trick for xtc users too.
so, i feel pretty confusion, but my first step will be uad for sure. i already pay for but now i must wait 'cos i don't have music shop in my "neighbourhood".

Thats the cyberspace equivalent of being a bit deaf!OK, sorry, i just looked on the second page...

I have no idea what a neophite is, but it could mean the same as neophyte, which in Christian terms used to mean taking on the body of Christ and entering a new life in faith.
So in the pulsar sense it means that you are taking on a new path in the life of pulsar! Theres a funny coincidence.
Add life to your days, not days to your life.
I bought the Vinco a few days back but have only now been able to play with it.
This is my 3rd plugin purchase from Creamware apart from the pro-pack which was a no-brainer for me. First was the sts4000 because all I had at the time was the sample players, pulsar v1.2 style (yuk). Second was the EQ31, an unbelievably handy and great sounding tool (cheap too!), highly recommended. And now the Vinco compressor. I won't waffle on about it sounding lovely and "warm" because I'm a total sceptic when it comes to digital emulation of electrons bouncing around in a heated vacuum. To me if it sounds good then it is good, regardless of those catchy words - "tube/valve", "emulation" and "warm".
And the Vinco does sound wonderful to me. I was very pleasently surprised at its use as a leveling amplifier for re-mastering some old demos. Doing some direct comparisons saw it soften some of the harshness with cymbals and edgy guitar sounds. Made the demos a little less fatiguing on the ears. I wonder if there is a bit more than just straight compression going on in there? I was also quite surprised as to how much compression could be applied without "pumping". Anyway, this is definitely a tool I can see myself using quite a bit. I've got a heavy metal "Korn" style band coming in soon so It will be very intersting to see what the Vinco can do.
Cheers!
