Anything is possible!
Mr. Ronnie, I used to run my web server from the basement on a BeagleBone... that's a 40$ credit size computer not even close to a pentium II/III speed. It worked great. Until linux decided to corrupt itself. This happened on the PowerBook G4 12" too, Linux corrupted itself. The toshiba PIII beaten up laptop with no screen and missing keyboards lasted almost 700 days without rebooting itself. So I swallowed sadness and put my servers on the cloud

Mine is on Nintendo.

I know that you are not joking. My Wii that I got next to nothing is totally pimped out. 1TB hard drive, no more putting in CDs! Yay. Emulators for almost any old console out there. And yes, there's a web server for it too, but I am not hosting my site on a Wii.

Re: PlanetZ forums are moving --> scopeusers.com
A BIG thanks to you, John! And all the best!
When I bought my Pulsar 1 back in the days I always loved to visit this place now and then but never posted anything. I even created a user account just a few years ago actually after being absent from Scope and Planet Z for some years.
I like the look and feel of the forum and hopefully it will stay this way. No need for changes in my opinion (well, we all should try to keep the threads on topic, but that's a different story). Who is Matt Broadstreet by the way...?

Sounds about right. Some of my old pulsar pages (prior to launching the forums) are still archived here, like http://www.planetz.com/Pulsar/Updates.htmlronnie wrote:If I'm not mistaken, this forum was started with John using a Pulsar 1.1, on a Pentium II 400mhz.
Or you can go way wayback, for example: https://web.archive.org/web/19990505011 ... lsar.shtml
Funny to see that now

Thanks for all the kind words and good vibes. What makes the planetz community so amazing is all of you!
I'm sure the community will continue to thrive at its new location.
I'll probably kick off the transition tonight or tomorrow. When it's happening you won't be able to access the forums, and you'll see a "Doing maintenance" message. Hopefully everything will go smoothly. Please be patient if there's any hiccups
Cheers,
John

Thanks for holding the fire John!
I agree that without PZ, Scope may have disappeared a long time ago.
Looking forward to the next evolution!

I have listed them here:John Cooper wrote: It's been a very long time since I've even had a running Scope system. My old pulsar cards are still sitting on the shelf- I guess maybe I should list them for sale, along with all their registered plugins so one of you can put them to good use.

Dear John
I feel bad that all I ever donated was 20 bucks or something like that. Is there any way that I can make a last minute donation? Please post your reply here rather than by PM. I think that there are thousands of disciples out there who want to know...

John,
The z has meant so much to many, and to myself! What a fantastic community you have helped build. The initial Pulsar pages, blog-style list of your own and submitted posts, I remember for their tips, tricks and the IO latency test. Later you added a forum which thrived on this flexible DSP card.
And who doesn't remember Orbitone, it's psy-fi fx, vorb or the three-o-three
Great friends I've found here. We've learned so much, traveled to amazing places. There's one who I missed on the z holidays, and I'm sure he'll make a great host for the future of what you started.
With little nostalgia, probably my last forum post on the original z. Thanks so much for hosting this unique forum for soo many years!

Great place to keep rediscovering a technology that is able to reinvent sound for so long.
Thanks for making that possible for so long, John.
