But would they not work Gary, or would they cause BSODs?
Not because it is easy, but because it is hard...

If the latter, then it should be possible to replicate the issue? And gather together a list of presets that are incompatible with 64-bit?
Once we had the list, we could formulate a 64-bit-friendly set of preset files for 64-bit users...

the STS will blue screen in 64bit windows.
samples are hosted in the computer's ram. if Scope is accessing ram in 32bit, but windows understands only 64bit there is going to be a panic.
just don't let the sample osc load. remove thing a and b from the samples folder.

I will delete the THING R sample files and weed out and save a 64bit friendly preset list for Zarg Ambient and share it ! What other Bowen Synths use STS files?

Hello,
I have similar problems. I have Windows 7 64bit and whenever I load samples in sts or any other zarg plugin (like for example Ambient) and I play a few notes on my midi keyboard, I get a blue screen and my PC crashes. Is this a general problem with Windows 64 bit? Are there any presets for 64bit systems?

Thank you!

Please read the above posts ! Using samples will crash the Zarg synths and as far as I know STS? (I Don't use STS) I just deleted the files in the sample folder in the Scope directory

this is because the sample player that makes the STS and was used in most of the Zarg synths was made some 18 years ago. there was no such thing as 64bit windows then so the memory addressing only works correctly for 32bit windows. they SHOULDN'T work in 64bit windows.

probably eventually. don't forget to breath.

for sample players, a native program will probably be better.
for Zarg synths, it's a matter of if John wants to update them or if he can....
