Scope 4.0 - Luna 2 EX - Win7 32

Post by idekius_serbia »

I have Gigabyte GA P75 D3 motherboard ( B75 Chipset ) with 8 gb DDR3
1600 and Intel i5 3450 CPU (Ivy Bridge).
Configuration contains Universal Audio UAD 2 Duo and Luna 2 EX
sound card. As AD/DA converter and clock generator I use RME ADI-2.
RME is connected to Luna 2 EX by ADAT interface.

Some users recommended me to install Scope Fusion Platform 4.0 in
Windows 7 32 bit including Windows XP compatibility mode. I tried it,
but some problems occurred.
Beside some others problems, the biggest problem is the system
freezing after couple minutes of working. Because of problems with
Luna 2 EX sound card, computer is unusable.

I think about changing sound card or buying SonicCore Scope 5.1. I am
from Serbia, which is not a rich country like the west countries. So
I could not afford to buy software and if it does not work just throw
it away and buy another sound card. SonicCore does not give trial
period for software that I could try.

Is there any guarantee that SonicCore Scope 5.1 in mentioned
configuration will steadily work in combination with Steinberg
Cubase software without bugs, freezes and other problems?

Thank in advance for your response,

well, if the computer is setup correctly, there should be no problems at all except for the fact that until now, socket 1155 computers have had terrible PCI performance. recently, the Z77 chipset was rumored to work well. i haven't heard anything good about the B75.

B75, Q75, Q77, and H77 have native PCI support.
Z75 and Z77 have only emulated PCI.

Is there anyone here with Gigabyte GA P75 D3, Ivy bridge CPU, Luna 2 EX (Scope 3 DSP), and UAD 2 ?
Because of such dilemmas SonicCore should allow the trial period.

Software and drivers for the UAD are free. Plug ins are not free, but they have a free trial period of 14 days.

that's right it SHOULD work.
i'm sure that it will work after enough bios revisions are made. a few will be the guinea pig first though before i can call it recommended.
