Any gamers out there.?.I just updated to SFP running XP/Pro, everything seems to be fine but in Quake 3 I'm getting a 2-3 second delay in the games sound. Does anyone know what setting may be causing this? Any help is greatly appreciated. It is rather difficult to play this way...
Thank you

Suggestions?
Use another computer for games
, I doubt it very much whether creamware have even bothered to test games at their HQ let alone optimise drivers for it,
I have a couple of solutions, in Quake III is there an option like disable sound acceleration, I know there used to be in Quake II. Try going to some of the quake fan sites and looking for console commands to do with troubleshooting. You might find something to solve your problem.
Other than that I suggest if you really want to play games install another soundcard and dual boot between the two.
Disable your games soundcard on your music partition, cus you shouldn't install games on that anyway.

Actually the problem was caused due to someones advice about PC optimization which suggested that the direct X sound accelleration level should be set to none or low or some such thing which in turn affected Quake's sound timing...I experienced no benefit to having this setting turned down and obviously found the penalty for doing so. Oh well............not everyone knows everything.................
