I have heard that some use the Magma PCI expansion with their Pulsars. They say that the bandwidth is not as good. I want numbers. HOW good? I suspect that this depends mostly on the motherboard in the laptop and not on the fact that Magma Expansion chassis are being used.
Any help on this would be GREAT!
Me wants go mobile now!

I talked to a mamgma rep, and he stated that they had tested a few CW cards with their systems and everything worked fine. They said that the cardbus interface has the same bandwidth as PCI, so I am thinking that the really important statistic is the priority performance given to the cardbus on each particular laptop that is important; pretty much the same thing as PCI allocation on PC-desktop motherboards. I gotta start looking into this now . . .

any luck on finding some decent results, joel? i'm very interested. i had the idea to go laptop/magma before learning about pulsar.
right now, i'm more thinking about making music at home with FSP and cubase, dump everything as audio, divide it over a hardware sampler and cubase on a laptop with this motu828 i/o card (firewire). combine this with a 16 channel mixer, 2 fx processors, and you have a powerful, yet compact, live setup. and i want fruity for mac!!! but that's not going to happen...
