Cant load new scope5 64 bit
Cant load new scope5 64 bit
hi i was using scope 64 bit RC1 fine till now today i turn on the computer and i see promt for activation of scope 5. I tryed loading my original scope 5 keys with no success. I was thinking maybe the activation key i had on earlier beta version ran out that had 150 hours of time on it. Is this the case and if yes what to do? need to get another temporary activation key?

Its most likely a time limit, yes. Write to support, gthey can generate a new temp key. You might have to pay for a permanent key though.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort.

even if i did the regular scope 5 upgrade before, i need to pay for 64 bit?
Re: Cant load new scope5 64 bit
why not ask S|C directly? We don't know for sure...

I really can not give a precise answer to that, neither has there been an official statement to what policy they will follow on that matter. I am sure support can answer that, and i can't give any specifics as to why I say there might be a payment involved as my situation might be a little special.
I suspect they might differentiate between users that upgraded from 4.5 compared to people who bought v5 at full price. This is pure speculation and should be treated as such.

Re: Cant load new scope5 64 bit
I was on 4.0 because I couldn't see much reason to upgrade until 64 bit support was available. So, as soon as the 5.1 beta was released, I upgraded to 5.0 so I could try the beta out.
As I understand it, when 5.1 is released then the pre-4.5 to 5.1 upgrade will cost significantly more than the current upgrade to 5.0. However, if you purchase the upgrade to 5.0 now (i.e. before the 5.1 release), it entitles you to a 5.1 upgrade at no extra cost. I did that, so I'm actually running with a full 5.1 key. As a softener, 5.1 for 6 DSP cards appears to include both the Synth'n'Sampler pack and the Mix'n'Master pack, rather than your choice of one of them as it was with the 5.0 upgrade.
More than that I can't tell you, and of course your own mileage may vary as I don't know if or how their upgrade policy might have changed in the run-up to the final 5.1 release. However, the price difference does suggest that the 5.1 upgrade for existing 5.0 users could be chargeable, at least under some circumstances. I guess the bottom line is that if you want to find out for sure, do what I did and just ask them.
