Quantum Wave SE released

Post by johnbowen »

Hi Planet Z,

I see Jimmy has already beat me to it! :-)
I'd like to announce the Quantum Wave Single Edition, or SE. This is essentially one of the four Instruments/synths that you get when purchasing the 'big brother', Quantum Wave. It is able to load the same preset lists as the Q-Wave, however because it does not have a separate Performance list or structure, the Global and FX parameters have been added to the SE's main preset list. This is a viable alternative for those that want to have the basic sound of the Q-Wave, but don't want to have such a large, dsp-hungry device. The MIDI zoning is still available, so it's possible to get similar results by loading four instances of the Q-Wave SE into your Project.

The introductory price is 125 Euros (including VAT), or $160 USD. If interested in purchasing, please send me email at info@johnbowen.com. You can also check http://www.zargmusic.com for more information.

cheers,
John B.

Hi kylie,

Yes, you can still purchase the Solaris Core, but it has not been updated to v5.0. (To be honest, there was so little interest in it, I haven't spent any time updating it.)

Certainly, if you would prefer buying through the Sonic Core Shop, I can provide the synths to them for that reason.

ok, that makes sense to me. I'm still interested in the core, although I have to admit it's not a top priority item on my list. but if it's still there next year I'll get it...
(had to put a real hardware synth on top of the list :) ).

I just wondered why only a part of your work is available via S|C. if you prefer them to sell only the recent products and want to distribute the other stuff for the sake of completeness yourself, it's fine with me.

Just bought this today and spent the whole night playing with it, very impressive synth! Bargain price.
Gonna spend a lot of time on this one :) Can't even imagine how awesome the full version sounds.

Glad you like it! :D
You can sort of get the idea of the full version by loading 4 instances of the SE into your ProjectWindow.

HENRY FONDA COMES BACK FROM THE DEAD TO HEAR POLYGLIDE.
Once-upon-a-time-in-the-west-charles-bronson-henry-fonda.jpg
Using a SpaceF CC2 I have assigned the expression pedal to the pglide amount in Oscillator numbero uno. The curve allows me to set the pedal for an average amount of pglide, then when I slam it down there's no need to feel the amount or guess where it's at, the offset features allow me to place the value at 2:00 o'clock for just the right amount.
Now I can play w/ a small amount and lay it on thick for certain passages.
I really love those old Spaghettit Westerns.
Sometimes on the low budget ones you can see Jet Trails in the background......

Yeah I was messing around with that polyglide the other night. Pretty cool. That's a good fat sound you're getting there too.
