RoomPan released - wolf audio design

Post by wolf »

RoomPan now finally released !
  • Image
RoomPan tries to imitate the characteristics of moving sound sources in a room.
This is realized by basic techniques like reverberation and the doppler effect, but also for example via delay based panning and psycho-accoustical effects.
All techniques interact which each other making the "movement" a real experience.

The usage should be very easy and straight-forward, although the circuit behind is quite complex and full with cross-linked parameters.

Features :
  • easy user interface to set/move position in the room
  • several modes for depth, panning & reflections in a room
  • modulation of the position via lissajous figures
  • true stereo hall/reverb with early refelection
  • doppler effect
  • x/y-controls for midi assignment
Feel free to "misuse" this device as leslie simulation or as a simple but nice reverb.

The device is available for just 59,- Euro .

You can buy RoomPan via my shop or here .

Get more info about RoomPan via the website or the manual

A demo is available here .

Thanks for listening :)

I have figured out the text( less ) Modular activation on the mixer.
It was loaded into the XITE-1 like a synth, due to it's hard wired Modular II shell.
Assigning the mixer to DSP 7 or 8 fixed that.
BC Modular looks way cool with the interleaved blue colors, I only wish I could get the BCR and try it out.
At any rate I have made some killer presets for foley work, but the Lissajous Inner Circle is incredible live.
Everyone here uses monitors in the deadened studio enviroment and headphones. But this effect, like many others stuns the audience live, Anyone who is near my powered cabinets immediately starts looking and smiling with nods of appeciation.
If your cabinets are placed 12-16 feet apart like I use them, the sound encompoasses such a large space.
An excellent device and an excellent idea.
Don't be caught live without it.
