So Mac has dropped express card slots already

So the only mac option compatible with xite right now is the 17 inch macbook pro as other macbook pro's all seem to ship with sd card options. I can't keep up with apple!! :x

no, they're just into obsolecense these days, a far cry from their reputation...

cutting off I/O protocols in order to keep things cheap and 'proprietary' - and in order to push everything towards wireless interfacing of devices (including external harddrives - it's coming).

My little Dell netbook even has HDMI port on it - perhaps the next big push is for HDMI - who knows...

Friends that are Apple-heads are getting pissed.

Absolutely! I haven't paid close attention but I have been informed that Apple already had to conceed defeat with firewire 800 support when they tried to drop it. I just can't see the 'pro' appeal of a sd card slot option. Also having to deal with a less portable and expensive 17" laptop isn't great.
