Does the RC work on Win 7 ? I wish to make the jump from XP to Win 7 64-bit. Sonar and Live 8 are 64-bit now and NI are coming out with 64-bit plugs now.
Will it run OK on Win 7 64-bit but less efficently/ slower or do I have to wait (...might be forever) for 64-bit Scope drivers.
If it took as long as last time I might be tempted to get rid of the lot and go native...........
Will Scope 5 32-bit work on Windows 7 (64-bit) ?

You'll have to wait for 64-bit drivers. 32bit software will run, 32bit hardware drivers will not (which means Scope.exe / SFP.exe will run but find no hardware or drivers!)

There are a many people wanting to build an I7 Win7 box, are waiting for S|C. The patience will be rewarded. These guys never release junk. No more 3 GB RAM limit, as other musical hardware manufacturers and software developers, migrate to this platform. CPU consumption will continue to grow with the development on newer and bigger VSTs and ROMPLERS, thereby the 64 bit platform (I hope) will become the norm for serious professionals. Never mind the small stuff...S|C may not be the fastest...but certainly the best in this realm. Besides...standard PCI bus speed is a mute point...PCIe IS the future. XITE-1 by far uses just a fraction of PCIe's potential.
IMHO....
Others have heard this from me...cooler heads will prevail....
IMHO....

PCIe rules.
Stay away from that USB/Firewire crap at all costs!
S/C did it right.

Using JBridge seems to allow 32bit bridging very well.

But that is only for the VST interface, drivers need to be rewritten for the 64bit model even if the applications will notXITE-1/4LIVE wrote:Using JBridge seems to allow 32bit bridging very well.

Why is it Scope.exe *32bit in Task manager?
I have Win 7 64bit with Scopev5.1.

Re: Will Scope 5 32-bit work on Windows 7 (64-bit) ?
because some aspects of the program are 32bit. 32 or 64bit is meaningless as far as loading the dsps goes, no need to reinvent the wheel. much of what interfaces with the system resources MUST be 64bit, however.
