tut08-Modular as Fx device
tut09-subtractive synthesis basics
tut10-additive synthesis basics
tut11-FM synthesis basics
tut12-AM + RingMod synthesis basics
tut13-Phase modulation basics

Re: Modular tutorials
Roy, without a doubt, you are THE MAN!
Thanks so much for all your contributions to the modular community. Been meaning to do something like this for years, but you actually got round to doing it! Thanks again,
Ben

Re: Modular tutorials
These are awesome Roy, thanks so much.
Is there a way I can migrate these to my DAW?
Or are they permanantly saddled to your site?
I try to copy them and cannot.
I should just roll my rack over to the Internet PC so I don't have to dash across the room maybe.
Regardless, these are invaluable to eveyone......
Thanks Again.

Re: Modular tutorials
Jimmy, after you copied the patches, they are located in your Scope folder:
Scope/Devices/Modular2/Tutorials/CwmTutorials
(forgot to mention this small matter

Scope/Devices/Modular2/Tutorials/CwmTutorials

Re: Modular tutorials
The scope community is very special indeed. Thank you all and thank you roy for all of your contributions. Amazing.
Re: Modular tutorials
Roy,
Thanks so much for these - it is greatly appreciated.
Maybe I can finally break the barrier I have encountered in getting past first base with this stuff

Re: Modular tutorials
Point 6) Note 1 could be expanded with the following info courtesy of Sharcs sage wisdom.
I'm still getting this display bug in my modular shell where all of the drop down folder menus are missing. So I'm still having to load from the file explorer.

That sounds like a problem with your cset file. If you load cset.ini (Scope\App\Bin) with Notepad and scroll down to the [StaticPath] section. Here there should be an entry for Modular (ie. Modular=c:\Scope\Modular2 Modules) if you enter the correct path (the folder your modular modules are in) here and save the Cset file the modular menu bar should should work next time you load Scope. Make sure you make a backup copy of the cset.ini file before editing it though, in case anything goes wrong.

Re: Modular tutorials
Grappa........I share your sentiment.
You'd think from the decades of classical training that fatigue would be non existant, but the first time I scratch my head or rub my eyes on these DAW related issues, I give up.
I would love to be able to use this stuff live, and it looks like this is a big step in that direction.
It's totally Moron Proof.............

Re: Modular tutorials
irrelevance,
I think we speak of two different things:
-I was referring to a problem which is (I think) a problem of the graphic card: from time to time I can’t see the drop down folder menus just because the graphic card don’t like that the modular window is on the right monitor. so I close that window, draw it to the left monitor and voilá, after opening it again folder menus are back.
-you and sharc talk about the "wrong" location of the modules on the hd. in a rare situation where you installed Scope on another drive than the module folders are, Scope does not know where it should look for them. so the drop down folder menus cannot be seen.
btw the install.ini path of the modules is always by default Modules=x:\Scope\Devices\ModularNew\SDK, where x is the drive where Scope is installed.
I simply don’t get it why it can happen that the wrong drive letter is in the install.ini
anyway, to err is human. I updated the relevant section.

Re: Modular tutorials
Roy,
Having a spot of bother loading a couple of these tutorial patches into Scope v5 - I get a fatal error with Scope.exe message when loading the basic poly and one of the other patches (sorry can't remeber which one at the mo).
Any one else confirm?

Re: Modular tutorials
hi grappa,
since there had been reports of hidden cabelling and other unconveniences, I gave up on installing v5.
I’m in when it’s ready

Re: Modular tutorials
Probably a wise move
I'll have a go at building them from your diagram anyway!

Re: Modular tutorials
Useful examples to give a try for sure. Well that's good news, as I have my evening for music
Would be great to see this on scopedia.net and also many other links to CWmodular.org

Re: Modular tutorials
The whole point of a wikipedia is that you can add things like this yourself. Don't even need to create an account if you don't want to.iSiStOy wrote:Would be great to see this on scopedia.net and also many other links to CWmodular.org
I started this page - clearly lots more to do....
